Absolutely. But there are very few genuinely good people out there who realize the connectedness that every human being has and act accordingly by treating everyone with respect. I'd say be wary of the "nice" people because they may be putting on a front and in some ways more sinister than those that are openly grouchy or mean. Nonetheless there are some people that are very nice and they really mean it. There kindness comes from a good place. As for finding these people, I would say that you know them when you see them or when you're in their presence. Their warmth and kindness will engulf you. But you are 12 and you have a lot of time to meet new people. You're still young so I say to you DON'T TALK TO STRANGERS! and keep hope alive.

You know, that feeling that you just expressed does not go away. Even when you are adult, you still feel the pang of hurt from people being mean. In fact, it is the major cause of a lot of bad things in this world....like....road rage! If people just learned to be nice...this world would be so much easier to live in.
Every one is nice at some time or another. Some more than others...
But also, what do you consider nice? what is mean?
It is all relative...it depends on the oppinion of that particular person.
Just try to be nice and hang out with nice people so you can stay nice...that is your goal!!

Hi Chealsee! Most of us, including you are very nice. Some of the only 'bad' people are not out of choice but because of the conditioning they've recieved during their formative years. And dont worry about people being nice or not, the world still functions to suit your mindset. Respect people for what they are, whether they've been mean to you or not, cos everyone do deserve some respect. If you respect everyone for what they are I dont see why you cant be one of the most likeable and nicest people around. The trick is to be nice and not expect others to be nice all the time. Have fun, kid!

Yes I am nice and try to be to every one, but some people just don't have any ideal of what nice means. It is really sad that people think they have to be hateful, guess they are just not happy with their own life and want to try to make other people's life miserable. There is no reason whats so ever to be mean, hateful and rude to other people. I have ran across several folks (young & old) on here that think giving those smart a** comments are cute. There is nothing cute about it, I think it just shows their ignorrants.

I've had lots of people tell me I'm pleasant to be around. If you keep meeting mean people, try looking in different areas to meet people. There are nice people out there. Try joining a different club or group and see what happens.

you know - we are all n ice people - you are just so young and immature that you can not see that! when you become an adult and not just a little child , then log back on to yahoo answers and i bet you'll see a big difference in people! why arent you outside playing with other kids your age?
