Hi there!
Try buying small with garden, also to renovate.
Could possibly find 100% mortgage if necessary.
Far cheaper than paying rent, can "opt-out" any time buy reselling.
No landlord, simply keep pace with mortgage, when selling you not only "opt-out" of mortgage, but also have cash back from the sale at least equivalent to the "rent" (mortgage) already paid.
However long this "tenancy", it is then rent free the entire term.
Conveyancing etc. should add up to no more than 3months rent, max £300.
Mortgage co. will offer valuation for twixt £250 & £300, you might find cheaper (indepent) surveyor in yellow pages.
It would be a better long , or short term, investment than paying a landlord non-returnable rent, gambling, smoking, drinking, or speculating on stocks / shares.
Home ownership, even on mortgage, gives not only the best immediate security, but also the self control of the present, therefore even moreso, the future.
Obviously, the more deposit you can afford, the less mortgage you will need, therefore even more "cash back", after "rent", upon sale.
Do not "valuate" untill you have a decisive interest in the property.
Happy hunting, bon chance,
Bill.

A house would probably be a better option because then you'd get a garden for your dog to run round in. I'm sure if you explain to the owners that the dog is well-behaved, you'll keep the place clean, etc, etc, then they'll be fine with it.
Another option would be to advertise for a place. Put a card in your local shop or post office, advertise in your local paper. It might be someone is looking for some tenants or someone knows of a place. Can't hurt to try. Good luck finding somewhere!

I was driving from Bournemouth to Poole on the main rod,
I passed an Escort that had a flat, In fact I think it had 2 flats,
So maybe you could squat in it,
Or try squatting somewhere else,
As not many people want animals in the properties they rent.

yeah I know what to do.
DON'T MENTION THE DOG!
But.. is it really fair to keep a dog in a flat? Does it not need space and a garden?
Maybe thats the problem. People care for animals in this country and to keep it in a flat whilst you are all out at work is quite frankly mental torture on the animal.

I think its a sad fact that animals and rented properties dont mix, defo not through estate agents anyway. Try finding a private landlord through your local paper and approaching them on a one to one basis, introducing them to Phoebe, and going from there. Good luck!

go to www.estateangels.co.uk and search for letting agents in the area you want to live.
you can then write one email describing what you're looking for, include details of little Phoebe, and then you can send it to all agents at the press of a button.
good luck! we had the same problem with our cats, but did manage to find somewhere so keep searching :-)
