As little as possible, as money is very tight right now. I clip coupons, look for sales and 2 for 1 items, buy generic in many things (as long as I know they taste the same).
Sometimes I call for a pizza delivery - again I use coupons, or hours when specials are on.

My family of 4 spend about $400 a month on food. I cook at home, no fast food ever. It's unhealthy. We pack lunches for work and school. We also grow a lot of our own food. So I can, freeze and dry foods. Not to mention store potatoes, carrots, etc.

I spend close to $400.00 a month and that is with 3 children. But, currently and I have a rather large garden that we also eat from. We rarely eat out. I think I do very well budgeting our grocery bill considering my sister who lives alone spends about $200.00/mo for herself. That's at the grocery store and she does eat out frequently.
