Noah was 600yrs. old when the flood came. & God caused it to rain on the earth 40 dys, & 40 nights. v.11, chapter 7 in Genesis, it says: In the 600th yr. of Noah's life, in the second month, the 17th day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the deep broken up( water from under ground) & the windows of heaven were open( water from above the atmosphere). v.12 - & the rain was upon the earth forty days & forty nights. v. 4 of chapter 8. - & the waters returned from off the earth continually: & after the end of 150 days the waters abated. - But the water still ws draining off the earth for a while. On the thenth month, the 1st dy. of the month were the tops of the mountains seen.(v.5) And when Noah was 601, in the 1st of the month, the 1st day of the month the earth was dried. (v.14)
So to date it in our terms. It started about 1656yrs after creation.( Adam was around about 4000 BC.) & lasted about a yr.

the year the continents sank
The rain lasted 40 days and the flood lasted about a year
laying down much of the geological column we see and beinying animals from the world before the flood which are now fossils,
fossils requiring catastrophic burials and lots of minerals and lots of water to work
about 1600 years after the creation
about 4400 years ago
the one ice age of the world accorured in the centuries following the ice age
it didnt take long for people to forget did it
God said he would NEVER flood the world again and they build a tower out of fear He would flood the world again and begand to turn to idols
fickle, eh

by the way a great song on the fossils lef by the flood is by Buddy Davis, have you heard it?
Baumgarner has done facinating work on Plate Tectonics, as he made th e software people use to simulate Plate tectonics movements most in use today. As I understand it, his model and parameters he feels there was a instability, perhaps built in from the design and some people feel perhaps brought on by metereors or other caused a catastrophic runnaway subduction of the plates causing the continents to sink as it were, by the sovereign decree of God
Michael Oard, the meterorologist reasearcher has also shown that a cooling world after the flood, where the poles would not be frozen would be a snow machine and some parts of the world more hospitable due to the unfrozen artic sea. Grazing animals like mamoths could live in parts of Siberia bext ot the glaciers and there would be a hospitable path through alaska for animals to migrate to the americas and lower seas to allow animals and indians to migrae for a time to Australia and America, also by the sovereign hand of God
all very interesting area of study

It truly depends on your religion, because the archeologists have dug up artifacts from cultures long before Christianity and long before Judaism which shows other peoples writing/carving stories about a big flood-- many have written that it is a story that represents the powerful aspects of G-d, and also shows his merciful side (saving the animals).
There were not two of every animal though-- If I remember correctly, there were five of the clean (or the unclean I forget which) animals and two of the unclean (or the clean, like I said above I forget which). So some animals there were five of, not two like we teach our children today.

It began about 4400 years ago or some creationists believe it happened 40,000 years ago. it ended a year later after destroying the world brutaly. and it was the rain that lasted 40 days and night not the flood.

We can not give a precise day or time because the calendar we use did not exist. And time was not recorded in the same way by the people who say this happened back then. The Mayans have a really old calendar though and they even mapped out the sky a long time ago but they never believed in this or even knew about it.

How shoould we know if it destroyed the world? JK! During the lifetime of Noah is about the best answer we can arrive at as there are no firm dates for anything in the bible.

At the first drop of rain, and the last drop of rain. The story is found in Genesis, around chapter 7:10.

What's more important is that Jesus said it would be in these Last Days, as it was in the Days of Noah.
One man...had the Message of Salvation...for the whole world.
