I would make sure that I was leading a spiritually healthy life first off, then pray alot. Also go see your priest or pastor about it. Usually they have good advise about such matters. Usually demons only affect you if you are leading a unhealthy life spiritually, but there is documentations thru out history that the extremely enlightened or very spiritually pure get attacked by demons too. That goes for all religions. Once you open yourself up spiritually and become enlightened or close to God or however you want to put it....you open yourself to the Good AND the Bad spirits. Seriously go to a priest or pastor that has lots of experience with the 'spirit world' (im unsure of how you would like me to term it) Get educated. Not many like to discuss it or they get too afraid to discuss it....so only discuss it with someone with actual knoweledge about the subject. You can get deemed crazy, or other such things. Becareful.

During stage 4 sleep the muscles in your body basically become paralyzed so if you dream, you won't act out the dream while in bed. Sometimes you can have something called a night terror during this stage of sleep. Your feel like you can't breathe, you get panicked, you can't move and it is really scary. This is all because you are waking up from a really deep sleep when you shouldn't be waking up and your muscles and conscious brain aren't working properly yet.
"Sudden awakening from sleep, persistent fear or terror that occurs at night, screaming, sweating, confusion, rapid heart rate, inability to explain what happened, usually no recall of "bad dreams" or nightmares, may have a vague sense of frightening images. Many people see spiders, snakes, animals or people in the room, are unable to fully awake, difficult to comfort"

I have had that before were I saw things like shadows coming out of a door, and I also could not move but I was still in the Rapid Eye Movement part of Sleep. You were still partial dreaming, and just waking up. It's crazy when that happends.

Don't do drugs........

Just being funny. Anyway if it only happened one time forget about it. The part about not being able to move and the stuff on the walls was still part of your dream.

Good imagination. Maybe you should write it down and expand on the experience. It could become a movie some day and make you rich.

There are a couple or three possibilities here
1) You were still dreaming
2) You were imagining it
3) You were momentarily aware of other dimensional existence as you were in a lucid brain state influenced by sleep frequency

a couple more
you saw a ghost/spirit
your eyes were playing tricks on you

Don't worry
"Demons" or similar spirits are not scary unless you are scared of them. Generally they are more scared of you than you are of them.
Notice how they completely disappeared when you moved. You scared them away.
If you see them again, try this
"YOU ARE DEAD, THIS IS MY HOUSE, YOU HAVE NO BUSINESS HERE, PLEASE GO AWAY." It works if you mean it and speak with authority.

Also, who's to say they are not friendly, I've met scores of really friendly ones and some of them are even watching over you (i.e. looking out for you).

It's a waking dream. They are frighteningly real. I had one as a child very similar to the one you described, but mine involved robbers and such. It really feels like you are awake, you see everything, but the shadows or figures involved are not real... they are added by your semi-conscious state. I know how you feel, but I have only felt this experience twice in my life and they were roughly 15 years apart. So, dont' worry, it shouldn't happen again.

It's a rare condition where the body forgets to unparalise it's self after sleep and apparently it appears that sufferers see someone in there room who comes over and tries to strangle them in some cases. And that's the truth. It's a rare unexplained sleeping condition not demons. Say no to jesus.

No such things as demons. You experienced sleep paralysis, which is a natural thing that happens sometimes. Sounds like you're under a lot of stress lately.

If it was demons think of this. Satan has no power of his own he had to ask God to have the right to test JOB. So the demons are under Satan. Therefore you are being tested by God and the best way to pass the test is to pray and ask God for his guidance because people will tell you one thing or another but God is the only one who allowed Satan to test you!!! Hope this helps. And don't be afraid we are above demons and Satan. They are under our feet.
