I'll try to help. There is not much to go on. It would help to know where you live, whether anyone who is to be insured has a pre-existing condition, whether anyone in the family is pregnant. Without that info, I can only suggest a good place to for you to look.
Go to http://www.wavehelp.com/index.htm and click on the blue circle that says Short Term Insurance. That will take you to that part of the web site and let you learn about short term medical insurance. It is a very good value because it is much less expensive than other non-group coverage but provides robust coverage. Read what you wish and then click on through to get a quote. You can even buy on-line if you see a plan that suits you.
Best wishes.

We have health insurance through my husband's work (although it is also available through my work as well). We have a co-pay (anywhere between $20 and $35, depending on the doctor) but other than that everything's taken care of.

If you live in the US, I'd suggest trying to get a job that offers health benefits. If not, it's really tough to get something affordable. Good luck!

get a 2nd job

have some else in the "family of four" get a job.

don't get "public assistance' oppressive taxation is the reason why many hard-working families can not afford to pay for the things they need/want.

There are many differnt private groups/organizations that have health, dental... plans.

Yes, I do have it for a family of 4.
We use Preferred Blue. Blue Cross and Blue Shield.
It does cost but it is well worth it.
