I have pretty short hair. It tends to grow well in the summer but when winter hits, it breaks really bad and the damage is.... well ridiculous. Does anyone know of any websites out there that offer short and easy (when I say easy I mean no need to curl all the time since that is bad for the hair) hairstyle pictures for black women (natural is okay but relaxed is preffered)?

Check out this cool trick from Care2.com
Your Hair: Waterfall of Silk
Learn these simple techniques so you can have hair that is, in the Chinese phrase, like a “waterfall of silk.” These four principles will help to keep your hair looking its best:

1. Find the right products for your hair type.
2. Treat hair gently, whether it is wet or dry.
3. Evaluate your lifestyle if you are experiencing extensive hair loss that is not related to a medical problem.
4. Carry out these 3 exercises as often as possible:

Exercise A
Rub your hands together until they are hot. While exhaling, tap your fingertips against the top of your forehead, at your hairline. Inhale and repeat the tapping. Do this exercise four times.

Exercise B
Again, rub your hands until they are warm. Exhale and tap your finger on the middle of the top of your head. Do not tap while inhaling. Repeat this exercise four times.

Exercise C
Rub your hands together until they are hot. Exhale and tap behind your ears, where your hair starts. Do not tap while inhaling. Repeat this exercise four times.

I would use a cholesterol conditioner, the kind that you have to leave on with a cap and then let it heat. Queen Helene makes a good one, there are also some more expensive products you can ask any hairdresser. Also, get thick moisturizer, since you're hair is damaged and probably dry, it will soak up fast, put the moisturizer on every other day. As far as styles. My friend had a really cute short cut. After she washed it she would blow dry it and maybe flat iron it once. Use a pomade or one of those thicker solutions that spike your hair.. and spike it then lay it flat under a scarf at night. Use a silk or satin scarf at night and stay away from permanent color. Use a cermamic iron which holds longer and gives shine. Or you can always go for the wet look with the texturizer.

If your hair is really short and you prefer it relaxed, have you ever tried a texturizer? I had a really short hair cut last year and I got a texturizer, which makes your hair curly the shorter your hair, the better the curl, this style was really low maintenance, I would just wash and go. However if curly hair is not you thing, have you tried just getting you hair wrapped or dubeed? It will stay nice and straight and you really wont' need to put the curling iron on it.

One last thing, there is this product called pudding, it is purple and it looks just like pudding ( hence the name)
this product works best with relaxed hair, it give the hair a beautiful wave, this product works the best on short hair.

It's all just a matter of personal preference. We have short hair and guys like it. And i prefer a guy with short hair over a man with long hair because long curly hair tends to make guys look too girly.
