Has anyone ever made or bought a guitar shaped cake? If you have any items or recipes that would help or if you bought it somewhere tell me where. Any ideas will help, thanks!

Here are two pictiures of guitar shaped cakes to get some ideas for decorations. A for the cake any good vanilla or chocolate cake recipe will do. As long as the cake is fairly dense (not overly moist and fluffy). If you work with two rectangle shaped pans, and cut out a guitar shape free hand, if should work great. Or you can always buy a guitar shaped cake pan (which wold be better if you are not very artistic).

Good Luck! A guitar cake is an awesome idea!

see if you can get a guitar shaped pan made by Wilton. Some JC Penny stores and some Michaels Art Supply stores have Wilton pans. Follow the directions that come with the pan.

I would just make two round cakes, maybe 9 or 10 inch ones, and one rectangular cake.

put the two round ones next to each other to make the body, and cut the rectangular one into long peices to make the neck. You can use leftover peices to make the top of the neck where the strings attach, and to fill in the body.
frost it and decorate. you could use skinny black licorice for strings, and gumdrops for pegs.
