1. YOUR English--no matter where it hails from--is godawful.
2. As was already stated, British English controlled the English world before WWII because Britain was still seen as a major power, but after it when America rose up to status American English became the more standard way of teaching English in foreign countries.
Not that it really matters given that outside of a few spellings and definitions, it's still the exact same language that can be understood by either party as well as Australians.
(As a side note, Australia is a leader when it comes to teaching the Japanese language as I've seen more books written by Australians for it than American or British English.)

British English. And remember, American English was once British English, too!
British English is spoken throughout Australasia & the South Pacific, as well as parts of Asia.

It is British Englsih that has influenced overall, With Britian America wouldn't be what it is today, America is a combination of other countries, Britain chas a seperate identitity. Yes america has political power but how far...? look at President Bush...
Look at China, Japan, Germany, France most of them are European countries and Oriental countires..not American.....

I think it depends on the hemispheres. East of the Atlantic Ocean, British English has a stronghold. West of the Atlantic it's Standard American English (SAE), which is a dialect as is British English.

I do not know about the world. But for my family's computers, it is only set on English (UK). I will also not allow any of the office gals to convert my document to English (US).
In Asia, these are countries that were taught in UK system. Pakistan, India, Burmer, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Singapore,
Some others were of US system.
But I do not know if US is major or UK.

Definitely American. Otherwise, what would be the point in Bush trying to monopolize the entire world? It's obvious he believes that the way of America should be the way of the world. Am I way off the subject here? Oh well, I answered the question.

Their isnt such a thing as 'British English' and 'American English'. Their is English, and the bastardised version the Americans speak. Seeing as the version of English spoke over here in England is the correct version..i'd say Traditional English
