I have answered this before...so here goes...all that I write here pertains to the time you speak of ...but the act itself is when the anti-christ sits in the holiest of holies and proclaims himself to be God....by this time the temple would have been resurrected..and the jews would have begun practicing judaism as they know it....
First in Matthew 24 Jesus was asked about 3 things the sign of when these things would happen the times of the Jesus' return and the time of the end.

and Jesus began to teach them of the signs
First we would have a many things happen but they would be just the vs 8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.

Next Jesus talks about a time of great trouble called the great tribulation vs 15 This is that time when the anti-christ does the abomination.....This has not happened yet ...believe me when this happens the world will know...but to further help with the signs of the times....

Immediately after that tribulation...vs 29 you begin to see the signs of Jesus return that is not to say he returned. but that these are the signs he is at the door.

vs 31 he sends his angels to gather the elect of God in the sound of a trumpet.this is a very significant sign or action because the trumpets are mentioned several times in the bible. First by Jesus then by paul and then by John.

It is important to know these scriptures because there will come a time that people will not endure sound doctrine..you would have read that in the same chapter

Paul speaks of the trumpets again in 1 corinthians 15 chap
52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
ok so not only was a trumpet mentioned but a particular trumpet..the Last trump

ok next 1 thessalonians 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
the next mention of the trumpet speaks to a people called the thessalonians Paul speaks a word to these people to let them know that they should not sorrow but be comforted to know the dead i Christ are gonna rise first and those that remain will be caught up to meet him. But... they took the word and ran with it and left their jobs and lives to...wait... and so paul has to write them again in 2 thessalonians to let them know:
2nd chapter 1-5:Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come,.....except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;..ok so this coincides with what Jesus said because this shows that the son of perdition must be revealed first before Jesus comes for the church

ok lastly Revelations..6th chapter through the 11 th chapter.you see the 4 horseman ride.. it is the beginning of tribulation and things that will take place before Jesus returns
look especially close to vs 9-11 matyred saints a product of tribulation..
vs 12 through 17 shows signs exactly that Jesus spoke of
vs 12 compared to matthew 24 vs 29
revelations vs 15,16 compared to matthew 24 vs 30
ok move on to the last seal opening up the trumpets
TRUMPETS...not coincidence..the seven trumpets begin to sound...remember ..what trumpet are we looking for??
the last trumpet...so..lets move on down to the last trumpet..vs 15 Revelations 11:15 says And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever...now let me show you something in the book of luke 17:21 Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.The kingdom within you shall become the kingdom of the lord it is the kingdoms coming together and thus .. this is the rapture taking place
read on down to the last verse..and you see verse 18 ..I will say this we are not appointed to wrath but we will suffer tribulation and this is the time in the earth that Gods wrath is being pourn out..and we are not going to be in the earth for that this also shows that this is the time for God to reward the saints...amen...sister I know it might be a bitter pill to swallow but ..the bible says my people perish for lack of knowledge..better you are equipped to stand and see the salvation of God then to be found wanting...God bless if you need any more info

Soldier612 is pretty accurate. I don't know that the 4 horsemen in revelation have anything to do with it, or if that is an accurate interpretation.
The Jerusalem temple will be rebuilt and the Jews will begin sacrificing animals as they did in OT times, before the abomination of desolation occurs. Keep watching the news. Many end time prophecies will be fulfilled in the near future.

Daniel 11:31 (and elsewhere) refers to "the abominable thing that causes desolation." This appears to refer to the erection of a statue of Zeus in the Jerusalem temple in 167 BCE, and would indicate that the book was written later than that date.

DANIEL 11:31 "And forces shall be mustered by him, and they shall defile the sanctuary fortress; then they shall take away the daily sacrifices, and place there the abomination of desolation" refers to this: Antiochus IV's army desecrated the Temple and stopped the daily sacrifices. On the 15th of Kislev, in December 168 BCE, the Syrians built a pagan altar over the altar of burnt offering in the Temple and placed an image of Zeus Olympius upon it. Ten days later, on the 25th of Kislev, swine's flesh was offered on the altar to Zeus.

Daniel 11:31 "And arms shall stand on his part, and they shall pollute the sanctuary of strength, and shall take away the daily sacrifice, and they shall place the abomination that maketh desolate." According to the Hebrew historian of the day Josephus: "And when he had pillaged the whole city, some of the inhabitants he slew, and some he carried captive, together with their wives and children, so that the multitude of those captives that were taken alive amounted to about ten thousand. He also burnt down the finest buildings; and when he had overthrown the city walls, he built a citadel in the lower part of the city, for the place was high, and overlooked the temple; on which account he fortified it with high walls and towers, and put into it a garrison of Macedonians. However, in that citadel dwelt the impious and wicked part of the [Jewish] multitude, from whom it proved that the citizens suffered many and sore calamities. And when the king had built an idol altar upon God's altar, he slew swine upon it, and so offered a sacrifice neither according to the law, nor the Jewish religious worship in that country. "

Daniel 11;31 And there will be arms that will stand up, proceeding from him; and they will actually profane the sanctuary, the fortress, and remove the constant [feature].
“And they will certainly put in place the disgusting thing that is causing desolation.
This prophecy relates to our modern days. It relates to when governments ban religion [ yet to occur] and all those who are preaching the Good News [ the constant feature] will be banned...by....the disgusting thing...a quasi government or even world government organisation, that has been given total power by all the other world's governments. this is the organisation that will be ' put in place'. Only by having the power can it ban religion. But when it bans the single religious organisation that is truly obeying God's wishes, it will be as if they had touched god's eyeball. Zechariah 2;8 For this is what Jehovah of armies has said, ‘Following after [the] glory he has sent me to the nations that were despoiling YOU people; for he that is touching YOU is touching my eyeball:.
No better description of causing pain.

That is an ongoing prophecy that deals with the kings of the north and south, who are constantly changing which is why there are no names mentioned; they are throughout only known as 'king of the north' and 'king of the south'. I think the first one is talking about WWII and the second has not yet surfaced.
