Wow, armag, lots of questions.

You ask a bunch of questions associated with human emotions and their expression. These are properly the subjects of psychology, anthropology, etc.

If I had to give you the nickel explanation: We have evolved cultural behavioral forms appropriate (more or less) to our kind of social existence. But all our capacities; to love, hate, etc., come with the physical package. (Or, to misquote Tina, "What's God got to do with it?") We're fairly sure that even other species have "emotions."

By the way, there are many, many people who don’t want “more and more.” That’s not a human condition, and it prevails more in some cultures than in others..

Evil:
The religious concept of “evil” is really kind of silly. We subscribe to the idea that there are forms of immoral behavior – some which can call for extreme protective measures. Yes, skeptics and atheists believe in morality. Some of us think it is actually stronger, as an idea, than the religious version. This is because our morality is based on human values and the human condition – not the prescription of a “God” who will give you candy in paradise or send you to hell forever. So, bottom line, we understand we have to protect each other from harm, whether it comes from without or from within.

Actually, if you look close at how we conduct our lives, it would look pretty much the same as anybody else’s; it’s just that we don’t disguise reality – or at least we try our hardest not to. The problem with the religious of “evil” is that it is elastic enough to include just about anything the dogma condemns. This is what has historically allowed communities to cheer while Popes & the like ordered the burning of “witches,” apostates, Jews, etc.

Death:
For the dead person it’s the end of all consciousness and sensation.

Oh wow... Will you pay me money if I answer all of those? ;)

I am trying to believe that evil people are just people who require more education. What I have that some theists lack is an unblinking faith in the goodness of the human race. In spite of everything, I believe that all humans have the ability to behave in a selfless, altruistic way and we just need to work together to bring that forth.

As I believe that good comes from human hearts, I also believe that bad/'evil' comes from human hearts. No more, no less.

What is love? Well, difficult to explain. A feeling that that person's well-being is more important than your own. A rush of endorphines at the sight of that person. Thinking about that person when they're not around...

Why do we feel lonely? Same reason as above.

Why do we need friends? This is the only life we have and human contact is what makes it worth living.

What are jealousy and hate? Good questions. Most of these are psychological questions, actually. I think jealousy springs from a lack of trust and hate springs from fear.

How do we think? The brain is a wonderful thing.

What happens after death? Nobody on this great planet knows. At least I admit it.

Why do we die? The only cause of death is a lack of oxygen to the brain. When the brain does not receive enough fuel, it stops operating.

That's about all I have time to answer for the moment. And please note that I have no desire whatsoever to make you stop believing in God. If your belief makes you a better person, then go with it. Just respect that my belief makes me a better person and I am entitled to have it.

Right evil depends on who you are I'm sure the Nazis though we where evil during the 2nd world war evil depends on your perspective. I don't believe in god as there is no evidence to suggest god is real. Love is an emotion of profound attachment from chemicals being released caused by a trigger in the brain. You feel lonely as humans are social animals we live in groups for our own protection so when we are alone we feel lonely so remind us to find safety in numbers again. We need friends for the same reason. Jealousy is wanting something someone else has it's sort of a way your body has of trying to make sure that you get the best for it. Thought is caused by impulses moving along the neurones in your brain. No one knows what happens after death you see unlike you we don't pretend to know everything about something we know nothing about. We die when the body can no longer perform all the chemical reactions required to keep us alive. Anger is caused by a release of hormones and chemicals preparing the body for a fight this is a prehistoric response from when rival tribes of cavemen used to fight. Lust is the desire to reproduce and to keep the species going. As more and more things become available we want more and more things as something new becomes available we are no longer satisfied with what we currently have and want more and better. Would you like to give an example of a human want and explain how it is unexplained?
Say no to jesus.

There are no bad people, only bad deeds.

In response to the rambling screed: Love is an emotional bond created by mutual sexual attraction. We feel lonely because we evolved as social animals and need companionship. We think due to electrical impulses and chemical signals in our brains. After death our atoms are dispersed back into the world. We die so that new life can come. Anger is an intense feeling of dislike, lust is just the opposite. Both occur due to environmental stimuli, usually other people. We are greedy because, once we have tried something and enjoyed it, we never want it to stop.

I hope I got them all.

Atheists are spiritual. All humans are. We all wonder about where we came from and what is the meaning of existence, or, consciousness. There seems to be some great and mysterious secret of the universe, so to say, and we each go about, in our own ways and to differing degrees of passion, trying to comprehend the seemingly incomprehensible. Some people choose to look at nature itself, or, reality, for clues to the mystery. Some people choose to trust what others tell them about the mystery. For example, imagine if the universe was a car and we humans had never seen a car. As we begin to notice the car, some of us would wonder about who drives it. Some of us would wonder what's under it's hood, or, how does it work. We each have our own soul, and we each have our own journey of comprehension. The amazing point to focus on is that we humans all share an interest in the same great mystery. We all have that in common. And, what a beautiful thing to have in common, especially in these troubled days. There has been nothing more morbid in the history of mankind than the belief, "My spirituality (or skin color, gender, bank account, age, etc.) is superior to yours." Such utter nonsense. Any religion or belief system that promotes classes and borders and fences that divide us, or goes to war over spiritual superiority beliefs . . .is sick. Some of us, thank goodness, will always choose to comprehend the great mystery with an open, rational scientific exploration of " God's creation ". Atheists are just as spiritual, if not more, in their pursuit of "God" as are those who chose to believe they already have full comprehension of "God" (just like they also arrograntly said that they had full comprehension of the Earth's position as center of the universe, or, that women do not have souls, or, that taking a bath suggests a desire to have sex with the "devil" type of grasp-of-reality). Atheists believe that finding God is an "art in progress" for mankind, that we have a long way to go and grow before we can comprehend God without our primitive human arrogance getting in the way and corrupting the truth. Atheists also refuse to believe is such rubbish as worship. A being great enough to create everything would not desire power or domination as we mere mortals do. People who find comfort in the idea of a daddy-figure looking over them probably hail from dysfunctional homes and/or from families long ago who were bred into servitude by lords and masters and into the ignorance of magical thinking. Some people choose that morbid pattern of domination and submission rather than enjoy the atheist's possibility of finding truer grace as we continue to grow and learn about this wonderful, mysterious world. Atheists believe, that if there is a God, he would not want us to come to any conclusions, as yet.

Evil by definition is hurting someone and taking pleasure in it.
Good is something benificial to others. I do not have to beleive in God to reason with that. Its socialogical. People are social people like wolves or other animals. Helping others around you protects the "herd" so to speak.

Love is expressed differently by many. To me love is a collection of feelings and values I have for another person.

Man is lonely see above regarding wolves. You mean for a woman? Its natural to mate and produce offspring. Its in the genes.

Need friends? same as wolves.

Hate is an emotion just like anger and lust.

After death? No one Knows this for fact. Many believe.
Unless a dead person told us how are we to know factually.

Crave more things. I think that is social superiority. "My toy is bigger then yours"

Finally. I'm not trying to change your mind. Just exlain how I reason.

I believe that humans are capable of doing good deeds and bad or evil things. Good & bad exist. For me God doesn't, but that doesn't stop me from doing good deeds, listening and appreciating religions and their followers.
I'm married & love my husband. People need to live in or be part of a group as it is a part of natural behaviour.
Hopefully, after death my ashes will fertilize the earth and help plants to grow. We die because we are living, and all living things eventually die.
I don't want to convert you to atheism, nor do I want you to convert me to your religion. But I'd like see the wisdom & beauty that all religions have, and appreciate them without being judgemental.

First off, no one wants to convert you to a non-believer...it is your own choice what you believe in. NO ONE cares-your choice as long as you don't go off forcing your religion upon someone else.

Secondly, it is a naiv to say that Atheist believe in bad or evil. Have you ever looked up the definition of Atheist? Please do so www.wikipedia.org will help you clarifiy your current misguided knowledge of Atheists....Your opinioin probably comes from the occasional metal band that does hate religion or shows horns or do whatever related to 666....But as you have extremes in christianity (newborn christians etc) so do Atheists.
Atheists don't hate, they just don't believe there is a god. That does not automatically mean that they love a devil or are hateful.
C'mon...look up atheist on wiki

i'm an atheist, and that i'm extremely not that offended with the help of the "less than God" area of the pledge. and also you're proper: You *shouldn't* be prevented from putting forward it, purely as we should not be *compelled* to assert it, ought to our thoughts on the issue be properly good. yet posting the ten Commandments in a courthouse is somewhat too a lot. The institution Clause of the U. S. structure reads: "Congress shall make no regulation respecting an institution of religion...or prohibiting the loose workout thereof." To submit this style of blatantly Christian record of precepts and injunctions in an section that's nominally unaware of religious persuasion purely isn't cool. I agree that, often, the ten Commandments extremely are not a nasty position to start up once you're searching to lead an ethical life. for sure, "Thou shalt haven't the different gods earlier me" is style of superfluous in that regard; and, all issues considered, that's likely the area of the ten Commandments that i'd have the biggest difficulty with if I said it in a courtroom of regulation. "Wow...those men are gonna be out to get me! i do not position self assurance of their God!" that's purely useless.

evil things happen every day. you can read about them in the paper, watch them on tv,or see them close up. you can't watch god (in person) proform a 'miricle'
you could say that god does proform miracles every day and that god is every thing and controls everything but does that mean that god is in evil too?
all your questions have no answers. some people answer them by quoting the bible or relying on god. but there is simply no proof. thats why some of us choose not to fall for something that may not be true.
