Dell has an outlet section where you can buy computers, including laptops for less than retail price, but they are returned or refurbished.
I'm sorry to say the lowest price today they have on the model you want is $1,800.
They do have a Desktop for less than $500, no monitor.
There also is a Latitude with a Pentium M 2260, 60gbhd 512 and a 15in screen for $949

Note: I have two computers in my house, desktops that were purchased for less than $700. My daughters didn't get computers until, well the oldest got one when she got married and moved out and the other doesn't have one yet. You are lucky you have $900. to work with in High School!
