It depend on your country custom. My country held funeral especially on Saturday and Sunday. Because it is a non working day and everyone can came to pay their respect.

They hold them every day of the week around here. Sunday ones are just held after church is all.

Sometimes they are, but the problem is, many are held in churches, and the buildings are sort of occupied at the time. Another problem is, many people do go to church, and the family will want them to be able to attend.

Some are but Jewish tradition does not allow someone to be buried on the sabbath.
