Sometimes it's kind of fun to see what sort of answers you get when people pull them out of their posteriors - trouble is, you may take some of them seriously! The truth is that the assumption of your question is correct - barking will not cause a dog to get a sore throat. But it isn't because it's the human equivalent of talking or some additive in dog food(!?) or anything like that. It is simply because a dog's physiology is not the same as a human, so that similar actions do not necessarily produce similar results. A dog does not produce a bark in the same way a human produces a yell or speech, so the sound's effects on vocal structures is not the same. There have been many times I've wished for it to happen, but it doesn't. ;-)

Alas, if a dog gets a sore throat from barking, it could take an awfully long time. I will be able to sympathize: My neighbor used to have a canine who would bark for hours on end every now and then, and would usually begin at three or so in the morning. He ultimately bought rid of it, though i am not definite if it can be since the landlord had a phrase with him or because he simply acquired tired of being woke up too.

I think it's not about barking, but they can get a sore throat by infections, or very cold meal (or water). I've heard already a dog which was not only sounded like sore throathed, but even sneezing. (Maybe it was an allergic reaction, and as I think about it, allergia can also cause dogs a sore throat.)
