GOD and Jesus can not be the same person GOD IS GOD Jesus is the son of GOD and also the word. Jesus is the alpha and the omega "the beginning and the end" GOD has no beginning or a end. How can God sit on his on right hand. another would be why would God pray to him self asking for this cup to be lifted off of him if he was GOD. another thing why would he say FATHER forgive them they know not what they do. GOD can not die and Jesus did. if Jesus was god then the whole suffering and dying was a trick.why would Jesus pray to him self. why would Jesus call him self the son of man. God says he is a jealous GOD put no one before him and when you say they are the same thats what you are doing.
so see how they cant be the same, but what they are is one in agreement they agree with each other. people who think they are the same person need to go back and read the bible again
please answer with scripture.

They are two separate individuals. Jehovah God is the Father who Jesus prays to. [Exodus 3;13-15 & 6;3] It is he who is the Alpha and Omega. The beginning and the end. No start and no finish. But Jesus is different. He is Jehovah's very first creation. Proverbs 8; 22-31. So I cannot prove they are the same. That is a false teaching. Be patient for the Catholic answer. It may come when the Pope finds his Bible.

Yes but according to the New Testament Jesus said: "Before Abraham was, I am." However the bible does not contradict itself on this point . Reason is:
-- Jesus taught polytheism
-- Jesus was possessed by the logos who was speaking through him
That's why Christianity has always had this controversy about whether Jesus is god or not. The proper answer is Jesus was not god and he never claimed it anywhere. He did claim that the logos (which is one of many gods) was speaking through him. So, when he says "...the only way to the father is by me" he means the logos, not Jesus. In the beginning of the gospel attributed to John, it does not say "Jesus was with god" it says "the word (logos) was with god." Jesus taught polytheism but he also taught a supreme god who is incomprehensible. Jesus was a gnostic, this can be demonstrated easily. Actually he was a Naassene gnostic (naas means "serpent" and it sounds like "Nazarene" does it not?). Read their scriptures carefully and the NT will suddenly make sense. The reason it makes no sense on its own is because it is corrupted and vital information is missing.

because there replaced into no indefinite article in Greek (e.g. 'a' cat vs 'the' cat), the translation for both words should be an same. in the Koine Greek 2 diverse words are used. In maximum Bibles those are translated as an same word - God. notwithstanding it is only a predicament of the English language. in the Greek: ton theon = God theos = god that's why some Bibles use the extra precise translation of "...the interest replaced into with God and the interest replaced right into a god".

Long question. I don't read preachy questions or answers so I'll just answer the headline. Jesus was a person God was never a person.
Therefore God and Jesus can't be the same person.
I don't have any scripture for you. I think you have too much of that already.
You demand proof but I don't care what you want. You seem like a jerk.

WOW!!!
Your questions are diverse as they are complex...and I respect each and everyone of them...
But rather than giving a quick answer, I am gonna complicate matters for you further...
I agree that Jesus is the Son of God and He is a different 'person' to the Father....BUT, do u believe that he and the Father are One in essence as being God in the Trinitarian form or do you deny the deity of Christ alltogether?
The reason I ask is because your questions cannot be answered cannot answered correctly if the trinity is denied.
I can take this on e-mail if you choose to discuss in deapth.
God bless you.

Deut. 6:4 says "Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one!" That's the great mystery of the Godhead, that God is three separate beings - Father, Son & Holy Spirit. We as finite human beings do not have the mental power to grasp that mystery. How can God be 3 people yet one? That would be like an amoeba trying to comprehend Finite Elemental Analysis. The amoeba doesn't have the capacity to.
That's where faith comes into play. When Thomas said that he wouldn't believe that Jesus was risen from the dead until he saw and felt Jesus hands and feet and touch His side where Jesus was pierced. When Thomas did see Jesus and believe, Jesus response was that Thomas was blessed because he saw and believed, but Jesus emphasized "blessed are those that have not seen, yet still believed".
Also, Jesus incarnation is a mystery also. He was both Man and God together. Revelation says that Jesus Was, Is and Will be. But Jesus died, so He Was, Was Not and Was again. In other words, His humanity died on the cross, but His divinity did not. How can you kill that which is everlasting. Remember what Jesus said, "Destroy this temple and I will raise it up in three days". He was talking about His death, burial and ressurection. Note that He said "I" will raise it up. On resurrection Sunday, Jesus Divinity was what resurrected his humanity (or that's my understanding of it).
And all power was given go Jesus because prior to His crucifixion, Satan was the ruler of planet earth. When Adam was created, Adam was the master of earth. When Adam fell, Satan became the ruler of earth. In Job, when the sons of God came before God, the one that came to God as earth's representative was Satan. When Jesus died for our sins, Satan was cast out as the ruler of earth and Jesus took his place, as Jesus is now our representative. Satan stood before God accusing us constantly (as it says in Revelation - the accuser of our brethern), but when Jesus defeated him and became the ruler of earth, Jesus now represents us, not as an accuser, but as Hebrews (I believe) say, "He lives to ALWAYS make intercession for us". Where satan accused us constantly before out heavenly father, Jesus never ceases to make intercession for us, to plead our cases before the Father.
But you are asking the question of the wrong group. You are asking fallen humans that don't know. If you want to know truth, seek the Lord in prayer. He will in His way answer your question.

I can't prove it to you because I don't believe in the trinity; I happen to agree with you :) But I have honestly come to believe that most trinitarians will just keep coming foward with the same misunderstood and mistranslated verses to back up their blasphemy and thus remain entrenched in their false doctrine... so it really doesn't do any good to try to use common sense with them. But WTG U for posting this, right on!!
Peace!

This is a question that most Christian ask everyday. It could complicated to many to understand and to see the real thing:
But I would try to explain a little since yI believe you are a Christian too, because we should not throw the pearls to the pigs, and I know you are not a pig, and I'm not considering of an animal or something gross.
Be advise that we are not the one that say that Jesus is one with the Father, that is Jesus who say that:
"Hear O Israel: the Lord our God, the Lord is one." (Jesus quoted by Mark 12:29)
How is Jesus and the Father the Same, as the same way a family is three, Husband, wife and child, without any of them, they are not called "family"
The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit are one "GOD" But yes, they have their own personalities:
The Jehovah's Witnesses are correct in claiming that there is only one God, as Jesus says in Mark 12:29 (quoting Deuteronomy 6:4): "Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one." However, they deny that Jesus is the Jehovah God of the Old Testament. This is sad, because having faith in Jesus as Lord and Savior is the only way for us to be saved and have eternal life, as we are told in Acts 4:12: "Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved."
Let's look at the Scriptural proof that Jesus is Jehovah God.
When we look at Old Testament passages which refer to Jehovah and compare them to New Testament passages which refer to Jesus, it becomes clear that Jesus is Jehovah God.
For example, notice some things that Isaiah wrote about Jehovah (in the Old Testament, the word "LORD" is translated from the Hebrew word for "Jehovah"):
"But now, this is what the LORD [Jehovah] says-- he who created you, O Jacob, he who formed you, O Israel: "Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine."" (Isaiah 43:1)
"For I am the LORD [Jehovah], your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior" (Isaiah 43:3)
"[the LORD (Jehovah) is speaking] everyone who is called by my name, whom I created for my glory, whom I formed and made." (Isaiah 43:7)
"I, even I, am the LORD [Jehovah], and apart from me there is no savior. I have revealed and saved and proclaimed-- I, and not some foreign god among you. You are my witnesses," declares the LORD [Jehovah], "that I am God."" (Isaiah 43:11-12)
"This is what the LORD [Jehovah] says-- your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel" (Isaiah 43:14)
"I am the LORD [Jehovah], your Holy One, Israel's Creator, your King." (Isaiah 43:15)
We can see in the above Old Testament passages that the LORD (Jehovah) "created," "formed," "redeemed," is the "Savior," is the "Holy One," and is the "King." In the New Testament we are told that Jesus created and formed all things, that Jesus is the Savior, that Jesus is the Holy One, and that Jesus is the King:
"In the beginning was the Word [Jesus, as the end of this quote proves], and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him [the Word, Jesus] all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. ... The Word [Jesus] became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth." (John 1:1-3, 14)
"I and the Father are one." (Jesus quoted by John 10:30)
"Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? The words that I say to you I do not speak on my own authority; but the Father who dwells in me does his works." (Jesus quoted by John 14:10)
"He [Jesus] is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him." (Colossians 1:15-16)
"Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord." (Luke 2:11)
Now let's compare Isaiah 44:6 with Revelation 22:12-13:
"This is what the LORD [Jehovah] says-- Israel's King and Redeemer, the LORD Almighty: I am the first and I am the last; apart from me there is no God." (Isaiah 44:6)
People sometimes refer to Jesus as the "only begotten" Son of God, based on John 1:14, 18, 3:16, 18, and 1 John 4:9. However, the Greek word in those passages is monogenes, which means:
"from monos (3441), only, and genos (1085), stock. Unique, one of a kind, one and only." (The Complete Word Study Dictionary of the New Testament, Spiros Zodhiates, p.995)
This Greek word does not exactly mean that Jesus is the "only begotten" Son of God, but more literally it means that Jesus is the "unique, one of a kind, one and only" Son of God. For example, here is how the above passages are translated in the NIV:
John 1:14: "The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only [monogenes], who came from the Father, full of grace and truth."
John 1:18: "No one has ever seen God, but God the One and Only [monogenes], who is at the Father's side, has made him known."
