Have done this a good deal in my life thus far and my definition is doing or taking the opportunity to move out of my comfort zone into an area I am not totally certain will work out but going after it anyway and trusting that the opportunity showed up because I am suppose to grab it.

For ex. taking the position of CEO for a startup company and flying to another country without really knowing for certain whether the opportunity actually existed as it had been described. Finding out it did and that it was an awesome venture whose potential was far more than I had even hoped for.

Trusting in myself to go after the right thing, not certain that I am but then discovering Id have kicked myself if I hadn't

A Leap of Faith is that move each of us sometimes makes into the unknown when logic may tell us not to but, somehow, we know it will turn out the way it should. Not to make the leap is much worse than wondering where that leap might take us.

It means that you're going into something not knowing if it's going to work out the way you want or not. You're having faith that it will, and you're taking a leap. Leap of Faith.

Jumping out the window of a 50 story building, praying to God or whoever or whatever you believe, and trusting that you'll be able to fly. A literal and figurative "a leap of faith".
