She tends to drag the string all round the house with her, and in and out of the garden. Every morning when we get up she goes and sits by it looking at you for you to drag it round, and same at various points in the evening.

She can take or leave other toys but loves this string (from a pair of trousers!!)

Just wondered if this happened with anyone else (these are my first 3 cats! - took the plunge a year ago - genius!)

I have seen so many other people with cats who fetch, one of mine does but the other can't quite work out what to do with the toy! I think it is amazing to see cats play fetch! My cat who does not fetch loves this little toy mouse, it has been mangled now through so much play but she cries if she cannot find it and will not take any replacements!

There's a comic strip in the paper called "Mutts" about a cat and a dog who hang out together and the cat has a little pink sock that's practically a member of the family, we're talkin' 'inseperable'. I used to have a cat that played 'celophane' soccer and he used to wake me up every morning to get the game started by batting me on the shoulder. I'd wake up and there would be 'Evinrude'(had a loud purr)with his celophane in his mouth;"C'mon, let's go".

Yes -- my cat (on my 360) has a red string that she loves. It's actually a leash that i bought for her. (She was always trying to get outside -- we live in an apt in the city and letting your cat out here means almost certain death :O( ). So i thought, "well, i'll leash train her and then we can BOTH go out together."

NOT -- but she loves to play with the string and carries it around like a kill, and begs you to drag it for her and play with her.

I sometimes also tuck an end in my pocket and wander around the house, and she loves that. The other end is bouncing around on the floor behind me and she runs around trying to catch it.

Very cute.

mine isnt a string kitty but, she will spend ALL day sitting on her
scratch box and batting around a little purple cloth mouse that has a feather attached to it, she wil pick it up with her mouth, bring over to her food dish, and i think she pretends the mouse
is eating her precious food, and she will hide under a chair then spring and pummel it, then shell pick it up again and go sit down
on her box again untill next time
she does this like 20 times a day.
if you take the mouse away from her, she'll cry for it too

make sure you pick up any string or string toys and put them somewhere where your cat can't get to them when you are not playing with them, could be really bad and expencive if your cat eats a string or string toy.

My kitty (Poppy) has a bright green feather toy on the end of a wand. When Poppy wants to play, she grabs it in her teeth and jumps up on your lap! She has other toys too, but this is her favourite and it makes her wild!

My cat has a small stuffed kitten that he loves and it is the only way we can get him back in the house when he runs out. He loves his baby
