Why do you think the US government has tradtionally supported Isreal?

Because they deserve their freedom like everyone else.
They are the ONLY democratically elected government in the Middle East.
And they dont want to have their civilians blown up with rockets

Israel is democratic and a historic ally to the US. Lebanon just became a democracy, but is apparently unable to control the Hezbollah. The civilized world needs Israel to be strong in that region.

the us gov. has always considered israel as closer blood relatives than arab and also the us gov. believes all arabs are terrorists.
i also wanna add that arabs dont wanna kill them because their jewish they want to drive them out of their land!! how would you feel if they drove you out of your home and land and killed your families for decades. havent you seen those brave children who fight the israel tanks and machine guns with stone and catapults. even in the areas in israel that they claim to be palestinian terrotories are being assaulted everday by israeli forces for no reason. if the israeli government cared more about their prisoners of war they would have cooperated and did the exchange operation instead of attacking innocent civillians in lebanon and endangering and sending more of their own soldiers to die. they dont care about anybody or anything except to destroy innocent people. arabs or jews! that ollmart guy is a bastard!!

Yes, we have historically supported them and according to Bush yesterday, we will keep supporting them.
The issues: We are further alienating ourselves from the Arab world ( you can decide if that is important or not), Israel will continue to act as bold as they want as long as we back them up, and they will us they military equipment we have sold them to do it.
