Vitamin A is dangerous in large amounts. In fact too much Vitamin A can kill smokers. Also it may cause you to go crazy. I don't know how much Vitamin A you would have to consume to cause ill effects, but I am certain if you are taking a daily tablet of such vitamin you don't have much to worry about. Vitamin C is very safe. It would be almost impossible to O.D. on it. Iron is the supplement that is known for child deaths. Too much niacin (a part of the Vitamin B complex) can cause flushing of the skin. Other than that I have not heard of any other ill effects of taking Vitamins. I take fist fulls a day and I have yet to experience any ill effects. I do notice my energy levels drop a bit when I stop taking them. Finally, for what it is worth, the Nutrilite vitamins available from Quixtar (Amway) and its distributors caused my wife to have a bit of a stomach ache...Not to mention the damaging effects on our pocket books. Those things are waaaay too expensive.

As the saying goes, too much of everything is bad. I think you need to find out what your system needs and what dosage is good for you? The fact that vitamins are good for us does not mean we can take any quantity. You just take what your body needs. On the other hand if your diet is rich in vitamins then there is no need to take additional supplements.
Thanks.

Both of those vitamins are insoluble... that means they don't get "washed out" of your body with water... (urine)... so the levels can build up. too much Vit A&D can cause freaky things like bone deposits in places where there shouldn't be any bone (like the middle of the brain) and they can eventually be toxic. It CAN cause death, over an extended amount of time... You should see your doctor, especially if you have been taking high or multiple doses for very long.
