They wear the same clothing that every other wife wears. Just because your husband is a "naval officer" doesn't make you any better than the next woman. And the rank is HIS not YOURS so don't be thinking that just because your husband is an officer that that makes you better than anyone else. And shop at the freakin Exchange on base like the rest of the wives.

I'm an Army officer's wife and my mother-in-law was an Air force officer's wife. The key is to dress appropriately. Wear decent shorts or jeans to picnic's, neat casual wear to potlucks and running errands on post. Nice evening wear when going to the officer's club. Don't dress like a whore. It sounds sexist but especially at military functions you want the attention on your husband not yourself. When people see your husband and yourself their reaction should be "they're a lovely couple" not "wow she's hot!" Of course you will be remembered more for what comes out of your mouth! Officer's wives shop at all places even thrift stores! In fact those are great places to build a quick wardrobe without breaking the bank.
In short dress appropriate, neat and not too much skin!

How about who cares where they shop and be your own Naval officer wife and be different and stand out from the rest. If you're the one who needs to really know. Sorry not trying to be rude, but I don't see the point of looking like everyone else.

You might be an officer wife but you dont have a rank. You can shop at any store that you like. Theres certainly is the preassure of looking certain way. Just go for something classy and shop wherever you choose. If you shop at nordstrom peple in the company will think youre snotty, if you shop at walmart they will think your cheap. So who cares. i myself am a military wife and i could care less. Now if theres a certain ocassion you are looking for always check for the dress code on the invitation.

Officers wife, NCO wife...they all wear clothes...shop the same stores, and wear the same kinds of shoes...
Just because they're hubbies are officers doesn't make them all that and a bag of salsa chips!
Most officers wives I know ....garage sale, and shop at Wal-Mart!

Military dependents should dress honorably. U.S. military personnel exist to protect the vision of democracy. As an officer's wife, present an image that is as bold and fresh and lucid and hopeful as is the vision of democracy. Dress with dignity and sensibility. And, be healthy. Wear clothes and shoes that do not cause harm to your body. If you wear shoes that damage and cripple your feet, for example, you're sending a message to the world that your role in the vision of democracy is to be so stupid as to cripple your feet for a sexy turn of the ankle. Let's start telling the world, and our daughters, that the proper way for women to dress begins with rolling up our sleeves and getting to work on the world's problems rather than working on our spring wardrobe.
