No. I do not support war. Whatever the reason. Some people may point out that human nature and the resulting political life on our plant is such that wars are unavoidable. However, that is no reason for me to support it.

In some cases war is better than so called peace. I dont necessary equate the absense of war as peace. When people are being slaughtered, or starved to death in a region where no war is declared, is there really peace? I dont think so. Like Iraq before the war, Saddam killed millions of his own people, and though there was no war, is that peace? Nope.
In this case, the USA inteviened and brought war. Thousands died, and are still dying, but still far less than Saddam killed. Hopefully someday when the winds calm there, Iraq will see real peace.
War is not good, and nobody should like it. But sometimes it is better than doing nothing at all. In Darfur right now innocent people are being ethnically cleansed from existence why the world ignores it. The worthless U.N. has done absolutely nothing, as usual.
So yes, sometimes I support warfare. It depends on the reason for the war.

This is a loaded question....this cannot be answered in an absolute fashion.I don't get all giddy when anyone is in a war because it means alot of people who probably would rather not get involved are going to die for no reason...however...from the beginning of history...people have protected themselves from outside invaders and provided better quality of lives for the average person because of them. The fact is that people in power abuse those without it...and sometimes justice can only be established through war...(see US Revolutionary War here) but there can also be wars that have at least one moronic side (see North Korea) and sometimes both sides which end up destroying nothing but lives. So warfare is important as a final means to decide conflict...with finality hopefully...but many wars and countries/politicians are stupid and can have wars for the wrong reason as well...you should support defending what you believe is right but then you better be ready to lose...and the winners reap the rewards

War is the worst way governments problem solve! I think there are much better ways than wasting lives.
There are a few instances where we went to war that yielded the most positive result for a war, though some were instigated, like the attack on Pearl Harbor. FDR wanted to get in WW II and we were isolationists in the middle of a depression, which made it difficult unless provoked.
From our point of view the most favorable result in a war was the Revolution! The British might not think so!
There is nothing good about war and what it does to people and their families, from death to PTSD! It forever changes you, and your whole life will be effected by what you saw and what obstacles you had to overcome!

Warfare is necessary and a way of life.Your life and everybody in existence past and present is a result of some type of war, blood shed. When you pay taxes were do you think part of that money goes.As for relating war to my country ,I don't think it is hard to relate the United States in war situations at all.I don't have the time to go there. It was the bloodshed here that made it possible for you to even get on your computer and even ask this question. War is everywhere all you have to do is research.Just about every religion you can name was involved in war;And some were established on it.War is a way of society and a way of life whether you agree or not.

War is neither good or bad in and of itself. It is the reasons for war that make it good or bad.
Now, that doesn't make war a nice thing at any time. War, by necessity, is an ugly, brutal affair. Death and destruction are what war is all about. Decent, freedom-loving peoples, and especially their soldiers, do not want or desire war. But sometimes war is necessary.
This has been a lesson that has been repeatedly forgotten and then remembered the hard way. For exampe, in the 1930's, as Hitler was re-arming Germany and creating his war machine, the rest of Europe was so concerned with peace at any price, that they allowed him to freely build up, ignoring his violations of the treaties, and even selling out Czechoslovakia in order to appease the tyrant. They had opportunities to oppose him, but they were so hell-bent on 'peace' that they didn't even lift a finger when Germany re-occupied the Rhineland. And, by the way, all this peacefulness on their part got them a war anyway.
So, as ugly as war is, it remains a necessary means to gain and protect liberty and freedom.

Is the state of the average citizen's intelligence so poor that they seriously ask a question as dichotomous as this infantile query? Honestly, with the exception of a few extremists on both sides of the issue, war cannot be dumbed down to simply "good" or "bad". War is a horrible reality of human nature that, at times, enables peace. Would I be a happier man if war didn't exist? OF COURSE!!! Who wouldn't be happy? But until that happens, I will continue to stand my post to defend my country.

No I do not support war, however, saying that, when someone attacks you, you do not want to fight on your soil, you want to fight elsewhere. Why destroy your infrastructure when you can be destroying the enemy. Believe me, I want nothing but peace for everyone even the terrorist that bomb the World Trade Center, London and Madrid subways, and the Indian trains. I wish Israel did not feel they have to go to war to protect their country. But the world is not perfect. I don't want to see any young men dying for a cause. My perfect day would be when the news people had nothing to report but sport scores and little kiddies going to school. Nothing but good news. Is it going to happen, most likely not, but it is worth praying for. And no I do not feel that my god must be forced on you. I don't care if you pray or not or believe in another god or not. That sort of thing should not cause a war. But it does. I really don't think world peace is possible because humans have to easy a way to hate built in them. Thank you. Yours is the best question I have seen in a long time.

I would love to see a world where we could live in peace, but unfortunately as long as there are so many different personalities, beliefs, needs, desires, etc. there will always be something to fight for and/or protect. Animals fight over food and territory. We are no better.
War is terrible, but a fact of life as long as we are in this stage of our evolution. Too bad, huh? I think so.
