I am teaching English in Japan so I am trying to accomplish that goal. Once I save enough money, I'd like to travel across Asia before I return home.

To me the best time to take a gap year is before your thirties, but you can do it at any age. I took a year off when I was 23 and went travelling before I started my career I am in now. Last year at the age of 27 I decided to take a transfer with work to the UK from Australia for 2 years. Big step but I thought that since it was before I was 30 I still felt it was a great time. If it's what you really want go ahead and do it. Will your career suffer for it? Will it enrich your life? If nothing suffers what's stopping you from doing it?
You will gain a lot of life experience and you will learn a lot about different cultures. I would've regretted not doing what i've done.

YESSSSSSSSSSSS!!! yes yes yes yessssss
I did it twice, once when I was 18 before starting college (for a year) and the second time when I was 25 (for 9 months). I was single, free and I had the time of my life. Nowadays, I'm married and have lots of work. Every day that passes I fell good I travelled around the world the way I did. And you know what? My career didn't change a bit both times I travelled and my life was a lot richer after the adventure. You can´t imagine until you do it how much you grow and learn. So, JUST DO IT!!!

Yes! I did do that! I was between jobs and volunteered to do a tour on a Mission ship to the Island of Haiti,Jamaica,Porta Rico and Honduras. I got free room and board plus a small stipence. It was the most memorable time in my life! I was on the ship for a year and a half. There was a medical staff on board as well. We went on the Islands distributing food; clothing;medical assistance; and inspirational comfort. We were like the good ship Hope! I actually saw the disease, poverty, despair and hunger up close and personal. It is something that I will never forget.

you could bypass to Singapore, i have stayed there about 5 years and it is quite astounding. it is an truly small island in Asia, and it is next to Malaysia. There are not distinctive subject parks, yet you should bypass to some it is vacationer's points of interest, like the Merlion, the Singapore Flyer, Sentosa or the Zoo. it is totally warm in Singapore because there is just one season all 365 days round- summer. you should bypass on the Duck excursion. it truly is a bus-boat excursion. The bus can actual kind of develop right into a deliver and it is going to tutor you some places in Singapore. you could also bypass to Orchad street, the position it truly is a buying paradise. the individuals there communicate a mixture of distinct dialects (English, mandarin, indian, malay... and so on) so so that you could be in a position to communicate with them.

Abso-bloody-lutely! You can buy a star alliance plane ticket and plan your trip around the world. There are rules on how many stops in each continent, and only being able to travel in one direction. Do it now or regret it for the rest of your life.

YES air travel has never been so cheap. Its got nothing to do with age its more to do with time and money.
Go for it, you dont even need to go to South America or anywhere daft. There plenty of interesting places in Europe.
