Well, my parents have a very equal relationship, and that's always best, even if it doesn't seem so to one person... so if they need money, they use it, and if they are gooing to purchase something larger, they just discuss it and come to a decision. But, if it's something just for them they usually are a bit extra nice -- but it's just to show appreciation. They don't have to be that way to get it, because the other one wouldn't have a problem with it, anyway. i know it's unusual, but if money, etc., is handled that way, there are fewer fights about money.
