Empty the box daily. Sieve out mess at least five times a day and wash the litter tray with disinfectant every 2-3 days. That will get rid of the gnats. Also only use dry litter, not fullers earth.

Clean it often! You shouldn't have gnats, flies, etc.. hanging around your cat's litter bax at all! If you empty the poop and pee daily, and give the litter box a good scrubbing twice a week, the gnats should go away. If the box is old, replace it with a new one.

move the litter box and spray the area before the gnats find out. Then do the same everywhere you see them. Get a spray at walmart but make sure it does not harm pets.
Raid makes a good spray that doesn't hurt pets

You have to change the litter regularly. The gnats are a sign that it's past time to change the litter.

I've never had this problem. Bad question to ask, but how often do you clean the box? Daily or even morning and night cleaning might help. Other than that, try a mosquito cintronella repellent that you would normally use outside, just put it where the animals can't get to it inside and see if that helps
