And don't just say because it creates life. How do we know that if you can't get pregnant "traditionally" that you weren't supposed to have kids? And in the case of multiples you often create "damaged" life. Is it really right to knowingly bring a child into the world that will only suffer? how do we know that this was not something of the devil? I know many ppl say "anything good is of God" but any christian knows that the devil is tricky, and can often pass things off and make them seem good.

By suffer I don't mean just have a hard life. I mean actualy suffer. Like have health problems that are very painful, and require us to have horrible medical treatments, and surgies.
And no i'm not talking about the virgin mary, I don't know where that came from

I never actualy gave my stance on genetic testing and whether or not if we know we are having a "damaged" baby that we should just abort it. In fact I think thats wrong. But if you knowingly do something that could cause a defect or something like that should you go forward with it?
And no I don't think your children are evil, I don't even know them. I do think that if you passed any of yourself on to them, they may be narrow minded and rude. But thats something they can overcome

A lot of people think it is from the devil, actually, among them the Catholic Church, which believes that any attempt to separate sex from procreation, for whatever reason, is evil.
And I think probably even most religions (for example, Christianity, Islam, Jehovah's Witnesses, maybe others too) will have a problem with the idea of using the seed of anyone else besides you and your spouse to conceive a child, or of allowing your body to be used for the purpose of carrying a child (as a surrogate mother) which was conceived using seed not belonging to you and your spouse. It will smack of adultery.
I don't know if the Bible is unambiguous about it. I mean, back in Old Testament times, it was permissible for a woman to give her maidservant to her husband for purposes of producing a child, but in the New Testament, the standard became stricter and requires monogamy (whether it is practiced by people calling themselves Christians is another matter, but the requirement is still there), which would presumably obviate the possibility of giving your maidservant to your husband, even if you had a maidservant to give him.
So, bottom line: the 'playing God' issue is serious enough that I would prefer to steer clear of it until I was absolutely sure that it was not in conflict with God's principles.

Just because some couples cant fall pregnant the traditional way doesnt make searching for alternative methods the devils work. Some people were born to have kids and finding any means neccessary to do so should not be shied upon by church going bible bashers.
Is a surrogate no different than ivf.
I have friends that used ivf and they have two very beautiful very healthy girls. The only drawback from ivf is that it is to expensive.
Bringing a child into this world not knowing that it will suffer is the everyday part of life. You might get hit by a bus tomorrow, does that make you any less vulnerable than a child born through ivf?
We were put on this earth to procreate and we are doing a damn good job. IVF included!

This is a peculiar question. I have two beautiful daughters. The first one through IVF (as we were pronounced a lost cause for natural pregnancy) and the second one we were lucky enough to get through natural means. With your reasoning God obviously changed his mind about us when we got to the second one instead of punishing us for "going against his will".
Or perhaps my first daughter is evil and the other is good?
Also an interesting comment about knowingly bringing damaged life into the world. We do more and more scientific tests on fetuses (which I'm sure you regard as the devil's inventions) to detect abnormalities. According to that reasoning - If we detect an abnormality at that time, is it God's will that we have an abortion?

"In summary, the Catholic Church condemns as gravely evil acts, both IVF in and of itself, and stem cell research performed on IVF embryos. "
We do not ALL believe it alright.
Peace of Christ,

Since God is "ALL KNOWING" He would have already known you were going to have IVF.
