I feel like i have nowhere where I can just go and take some time out and be alone and get things into perspective.

Tough. When I felt that way, home for a vacation from college, I used to take long walks - for hours. Every day. It's not the same as being alone, and, especially if you are upset, you feel like everybody is looking at you, but it removes you a bit.

Else... perhaps visiting with a good friend for a week or two? Or, as is the season, going a week someplace - to the sea or up a mountain - on a vacation, and spend the time on your own, preferably safe (don't take very long hikes alone, that may have negative results).

Me, when I need privacy, I read a book and escape in the imagined world (Jane Austen is a reasonable choice, her character's problems all seem so... naive). And my thoughts get sorted out on their own, on the back of my mind... eventually.

its unclear why you want to be alone, speaking as someone who is alone too much I would be happy with your problem, however, turn off your mobile, get on a train and come to Carlisle, walk the lakes, stay away, sounds like you need a holiday, but those around you may make that impossible or impractical. How about just listing the things that cause you stress, tackle them, most difficult first, that way the others seem less difficult and life seems more bearable - then go on holiday return refreshed!

I go and stand in the middle of a random field and just scream and let out all my tension and emotions. Sometmes i cry and sometimes i shout into the air as if argueing with an invisible man! But it really does work and then i call my mates and go down the pub 4 a beer! Try it babe xx

Exercise. Go for a jog or a walk. Go alone to watch a movie, do yoga, get into a really good book, take a long bubble bath. Find something to take your mind off all your problems.I hope this helps. It'll get better just be good to yourself.

I know it's not exactly a 'long' time, but often take a long, hot bubbly bath and shut the bathroom door...Or get on a train and go to the beach for the day, and maybe write some stuff...Or go to a park...

Getting out and going for a walk or watching a movie on tv if you have sky movies for example you will have a choice of ones to watch. or watch one on video or dvd to escape. Writing your problems down as well might help.

sensory deprevation is always good... go into a closet and close the door... the darkness, will help you to "escape"... or, draw yourself a bath, and put ear plugs into your ears and wear a shade over your eyes!!!

and, just let the water "do it's work" for upwards of 20 minutes...

you can always escape into a offline computer game like solitaire!!!

or, "escape" into a book of poetry, or, short stories!!!

sit in the dark put on some really nice music wear comfortable clothes, and escape in your own mind, go to all the nice places you can think of, it does work i do it at work a lot when i get the shits or get stressed out. give it a go
