My older brother played away from home,
his wife developed a piss on (as you would) and reported him for allegedly abusing one of his kids,............as you can imagine this caused a major split in the family and left him in the cold ,
he spent forever awaiting trial only to have the charges thrown out and the judges extreme sympathy for the farce created by his by then ex wife.
social services went to town on his whole life, he lost his 40 k a year job, his house, his life, respect etc........
to the point that due to our unique surname ,the ripple effect has extended to me and my family, eg i have lost my job, my son has had fights at school ( very strange for my son to be fighting being as he is a devoted student), etc all due to the "social services".
people hear the main news, but no one gives a toss about the news that says the guy was found not guilty and the ex-wife is to be charged with false allagations etc.
but hey !! my brother caused his own shat, ive had nothing to do with him for like 10 years ( he is a conseated **** ) but i have no judges sympathy . why should my family suffer the ridicule of this alleged and now unprovan statement.
why cos the social services have allways been crap, they hassle the genuine people, and let the child beaters get away with everything.
so no.......i dont think they are allways right do you ?

no they are not always right.
From time to time they get things wrong, there has been many cases made public of where they failed as a service to protect an innocent and vunerable person/child.
Usually the lack of communication, resources and money in that council sector is to blame.

for social services there has to be a lot of evidence to support them in the law court. if you were taken in to care then your parents would of been told that they can appeal in a court law if they wanted to. social services would of asked school's, doctor's and other profession for an assessment on your family. if the school hadn't notices anything strange like bruises then you wouldn't of been put in to care.

They are not always 100% right. If you gave us a little more details then we might have a better answer.
