I just butchered 2 pigs Tuesday. I'll tell you more about it later. I'll tell you next Wednesday just how good they are smoked.
.Because of His death and this new agreement, we are no longer under ceremonial laws involving days. Moral laws are in effect in believer's hearts, but not the ceremonial laws. Proof? God says in Colossians 2:14,16 that Christ [blotted] out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross.... Let no man therefore judge you in [Get it]meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holy- day, or of the new moon, or [Get it!] of the sabbath days.

Once the Jesus was born, everything changed. We are under a new law. But I Timothy 4:3-5 explains that we are allowed to eat whatever, in though the OT says not to. 4:3-"Commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.
4:4 For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving:
4:5 For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.
So therefore, we can eat whatever because we say our grace, and it is sanctified. We should recieve it in thanksgiving form God. So therefore it is not forbidden for us to eat pork.

Jesus Christ was born a Jew and therefore he was under the Mosaic Law.Christ's death fulfilled the Law and as a result Christians were no longer under the Law.Christs death bought in a New Covenant.(Rom.10:4;Gal.3:19-25;Luke22:20;Heb.9:15-18)
In Matt.22:36:40 Jesus was asked "which is the greatest commandment in the Law?"You can read his reply in verses 37-40

For health reasons. The Bible says, "everyting is good but not everything is beneficial." Jesus did many things that man cannot follow hook, line and sinker because He is divine. There are some Christians who do Jewish practices like keeping the Sabbath and not eating pork. They are called the 7th Day Adventists.

Jesus is the almighty God who came to this world as a human being. So he, being humbled, followed the rituals and traditions in that jewish society so he would have not eaten the pork.
However during His life in the earth he did not ask anyone not to eat pork. So we eat.
What is important is to understand who He is, why He came to world, what He did for us.

Not all Christians eat pork. I am a Seventh-day Adventist. We still follow the law of Moses on what is clean and what is unclean.

Because Paul said it was okay. If you feel that it is not right for you, then don't eat it. In the old days, pork was often not cook good enough to kill all the worms they contained and thus was not good for your health.

BECAUSE THEY MISS READ THE WORD OF GOD: THEY TWIST THE WORD OF GOD INTO WHAT THEY DESIRE:
1ti 4:3 Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.
1ti 4:4 For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving:
1ti 4:5 For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer
It means what it says. Every creature of God---that is, creatures set apart by Scripture (or, as verse 5 puts it, "sanctified by the Word of God") is good for food. (The "creatures of God" that are good for food and of which we are to thankfully receive obviously do not include slugs, maggots, or kittens, among other things.) Where, in the Word of God, are such meats sanctified? You'll find them in Leviticus 11 and Deuteronomy 14.
NONE OF THE LAWS OF GOD ARE DONE AWAY WITH.
Mt 5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
Mt 5:18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
Mt 5:19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
7TH DAY SABBATH
Ex 31:16 Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the sabbath, to observe the sabbath throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant.
Ex 31:17 It is a sign between me and the children of Israel for ever: for in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested, and was refreshed

Well first of jews and christians are different. secondly, and on that note, the old testament is jewish law. And third, and on the same note again, the new testament is the old testament revised. Therefore christians are not bound to the same dietary, laws as the jews

jewish law stated that they could not eat the meat of pigs... and jesus, being jewish observed that custom...the new testament does not "prohibit" eating pork... however, its a matter of balance.. if you eat lots of pork ...you may suffer consequences.. your body is not designed to digest certain foods... if you continue to ingest those foods ... your body will suffer the consequences.... clogged areteries, high cholesterol etc
