a healthy child all the way, the sex of the child shouldnt matter , she should be gratfull that she has been blessed with a child.

I have 2 wonderful little girls, and expecting a third in 4 months. Sorry to say, but the 1st reaction I get from most people after giving birth to my 2nd daughter is "are you gonna have another one??" One so called friend even laughed (literally!)after learning we had another girl. So there definitely is a stigma to having girls over boys (I think more so in the Asian community). I don't hear a lot of people saying "what 2 boys? Are you gonna try for a girl??" Funny thing is, my in laws seem to think that I determine the sex of the child, because I come from a family of 2 girls!
Healthy babies are the way to go!

Naturally the babies health is the most important factor.
But I think its just human nature to wonder what sex the baby is thats growing inside. I have 6 children. 4 boys first then 2 girls. I found that although not feminine the boys are more loving. The girls are wonderful also of course but boys seem to be the most loving.

People are funny...

Pretty much everyone says all they want is a healthy baby.. because that's the most important thing. But in their heart of hearts.. most people are either imagining a little boy playing baseball.... or a tiny ballerina with ribbons in her hair.

the good thing is that no matter what their secret preference beforehand.. when the baby is placed in their arms it becomes exactly what they were hoping for.

I was so hoping for a girl.. pretty dresses, lovely bows, gorgeous canopy cribs and pink lace.... and when we learned it was a boy I was sad for a day or so.

But then i got into it, and now I couldn't imagine having him be anyone but the grubby faced little daredevil he is.LOL.

Boys rule. ;)

Maybe she's thinking that it's obvious that someone would care more about the health than gender....that it doesn't need to be spoken. Of course any mother wants their baby to be healthy #1. I want a girl. I don't really want a boy, but I'm sure that if I had a boy, I'd quickly change my mind.

I have four children, two boys and two girls. I wouldn't trade any of them for the world and was always happy whether I had a boy or girl. I'd have to say that my girls were easier as infants, happy, great schedules, etc. But my boys are easier as they get older. They're more cooperative and well-mannered while my girls are sassier and a little sneaky.

I really think people should be more concerned about having a healthy baby then to be worrying if it will be a girl or a boy.

Whatever god gives me i will be happy with

congrats to you

that is an old story and people just can't let go of the thought that the kid has got to be a boy...

but with people like you (and me and many others) the world will maybe not have that problem in a few years time....
as long as all the governments (like china) give same rights to girls than to boys...
that made me think now...it will probably never happen :o(

You shouldn't care so much about if it is a boy or a girl, but rather hope that the child is healthy....
