My boyfriend's hair is going very thin on top, and I've suggested that he cut it very short. I've always preffered it when balding men cut their hair very short, because I think the bald spot look on younger men just doesn't look right. I was thinking of him cutting it to about half an inch or so. Only if he wants to though, I wouldn't force him to, I do love the man either way. The question is, am I the only women who prefers this, and am I being unfair to ask him?

Why not suggest to him that he shave it completely? That is very hip, looks great (especially if he is good looking and has a well shaped head), will actually make him look younger (as well as with it) and removes the horror of the greasy looking comb over.

Don't forget to get him sunblock for his head though. Even though his hair is thin, it does provide a little bit of protection from the sun. The biggest risk from shaving is sunburn so he will need to protect himself from this if he decides to take it all off.

My Husband's hair is the same. He is thin on top and also has a widows peak. He has just had it cut very very short about 1/4 inch and it looks much better. The bald spot is not so noticable.

Good luck

I agree with K38, i started going bald and grey in my late 20's and the best thing i did was to cut it short, bald or a number 1 depends how i feel. The other advantage is you can buy you own clippers and save a hell of a lot on hair cuts

Ok- this is going to sound like a weird question but- does he have an even head? If the shape of his head is nice, why doesn't he just shave it all off. It sounds a little extreme, but so many guys are going for the completely bald look and I personally think it looks better than thinning hair.

I soooo prefer balding men to shave it off! It doesn't quite look right when they are holding on to the last bit they have, and its not a good look when theres lots of bushy hair at the sides and a shiny head in the middle, and 'comb overs' are ewe!!If you ask him the right way, and tell him how much sexier you think he would look with a shorter style, I'm sure he wont take it the wrong way, men are easy to win over when you add sex into the equation! Tell him you think he would look younger too!

Ah, my man is going bald as well, he now has a very noticable little island of hair floating on its own at the front.

He has just taken the plunge and gone very short, and I personally think it looks very dignified, it is more of a grown up look than his shaggy-do he had before.

I guess at the end of the day, you have to phrase it as 'dear, I love you either way, but what about getting it cut short, as I think it would look really sexy'. But reassure him you think he's hot either way!

Lol, I have a devils peak (both sides of the front of my hair is receding a little bit, so rather than give everyone a shock if it gets worse, Ive cut my hair down to a couple of milimeters and it looks a lot better with nothing to hide ;)

Being a Duck (man) who has been eflicted with the selective hair growth hormone i have to go with the whole shave it option, get ya clippers out and give him a good old number 1 or 2 all over,i have been acused of being a tart in my time with the whole spikey gelled to perfection hair, but not any more, clippers came out and it was a 1 all over, now im free from the shackles of being a tart "YEH" shave it shave it.....

Definitely cut it short, it will make him look younger and the bald spot will be less noticeable.
