No there are enough people in the world that you don't have to recycle best friend ex's. No amount of time will make it o.k. with your friend.

Well if ya''ll are still best friends no, no matter what you should never go out with a best friends x , there wa sreason they broke up and now he is the x and as best friend you should support her not take over x, if not friends anymore go for it!

If you were really a "best friend", You wouldn't even be considering it. There is no "grace" involved.
