humm...not really certain but let's look at it in the two most common ways to look at it...
Religious...if you read the bible there is a bunch of predictions for the future to tell when life on earth will end. Fire in the sky, falling of the world's largest religion, massive amounts of destructive weather and weather patters, etc. The largest religion in the world right now is the Catholic religion...but since the raping of the boys was released to the public, there has been a massive amount of people dropping that religion, and a massive amount of people not being recruited...even the pope announced it was the end of the world. Also, almost all have come true of those predictions, meaning, it's nearing quickly. If you live in the USA, you'll know that the weather isn't the same as it was 5 years ago. We've had more earthquakes, tornados, blizzards, and hurricanes than ever before. I'm uncertain about the rest of the world.
Now if you're not religious, science states that we'll all probably be gone in the next 1,000 years. We're killing ourselves. Ozone layer is being destroyed, there is pollution everywhere. We're tearing down forests, and other life forms. We're not practicing crop rotation, meaning another dust bowl will strike again. We're just a bunch of idiots sitting here killing ourselves.

Matthew 24:36-No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.

Matthew 24:37-As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man.

Matthew 24:38-For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark;

Matthew 24:39-and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man

Matthew 24:40-Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left

Matthew 24:41-Two women will be grinding with a hand mill; one will be taken and the other left.

Matthew 24:42-Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come.

Matthew 24:43-But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what time of night the thief was coming, he would have kept watch and would not have let his house be broken into.

Matthew 24:44-So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.

Matthew 24:45-Who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom the master has put in charge of the servants in his household to give them their food at the proper time?

Matthew 24:46-It will be good for that servant whose master finds him doing so when he returns.

Matthew 24:47-I tell you the truth, he will put him in charge of all his possessions.

Matthew 24:48- But suppose that servant is wicked and says to himself, 'My master is staying away a long time,'

Matthew 24:49-and he then begins to beat his fellow servants and to eat and drink with drunkards.

Matthew 24:50-The master of that servant will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he is not aware of.

Matthew 24:51-He will cut him to pieces and assign him a place with the hypocrites, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

there are 2 issues here
if you call the physical form of the world as mountain, lake, ocean etc; they will never be destroyed and just change form in case of a catastrophe or the end of the world.
If you call the living things who live on the planet as the world then do not worry as life can never be destroyed ( never ever) as the most enlightened religon on the earth says " soul just migrates from one form to anather" and finally on acheiving perfection atains nirvana .
Live life with happiness and ask the predictors of doom take a walk as there is nothing you or I can do. So dont worry be happy

The world (by this I mean the planet) should last several hundred million more years at least. If you are interested in how long we will survive (which is what most people mean by the world ending) then we haven't got very long. Survival would require massive cultural change, and that is very unlikely to happen before we have destroyed our life support systems.

Yes I have no doubt that in about 9,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000, 0000 years the world will end. Or the human defination of the world.

I the meantime I am just going to have a good time here.

MY world is going to end when I die. It won't matter to me what happens afterwards... since I'll be dead then.
