Christians? mormons? prodistants? I actually went to all of them and none followed this simple line....

James 1:27
Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.

in fact usually i had to give 10% of earnings to be a member of good standing and hate people i never met because they were sinners... but then i thought the bible said we are all sinners? Maybe gay marriage is a extra extra sin.. like judging people.. do we judge people when we say they can't be married because they are gay? or is that just a suggestion?

funny part is the bible says no one should get married. they should just devote their lives to god. but if they have to give into lust they should marry someone.

1 Corinthians 7
"It is good for a man not to marry""It is good for them to stay unmarried"

Hmm maybe all marriage should be band by government per the bible.

> Christians? mormons? prodistants?

Aren't you casting a pretty small net there? But for minor details, so far you've looked at a total of one religion.

> maybe all marriage should be band by government per the bible.

Actually, the government (US, here, if you're elsewhere your mileage may vary) pays too much attention to it as is. Seperation of church and state... no religion should have any bearing on government.

> So like which religion is true and faultless?

Yet to be determined. There's no evidence either way for any religion, so how could anyone answer whether a religion is true? And what does faultless even mean in this context?

The sad thing is that no religion is perfectly correct. Whenever man gets involved, we always mess it up!

God has given us the Bible and it is correct. It is what God wants to tell us. But then, because we want to believe what we want to believe and to teach what we want to teach, so we very often take one verse of scripture, yank it out of its context, and tell people, "thus sayeth the Lord..." When in fact, kept within its context, the verse is actually saying something very different. Consider this as an absurd example:
Mat 27:5 And he cast down the pieces of silver in the temple, and departed, and went and hanged himself. Luk 10:37 ... Then said Jesus unto him, Go, and do thou likewise.
Does this mean we should all throw away our money and hang ourselves? NO! These verses were taken out of context. The first verse tells us about Judas' response to Jesus being condemned. The second verse is found at the end of Jesus' parable about the good Samaritan. He asked the people He was teaching, "which of these three people I just described to you was the true neighbor". The answer came, "The one who helped the man". And, Jesus replied, "Now go and do the same".

To sum all this up, we MUST "search the scriptures daily" (Acts 17:11) to ensure that we are being taught correctly.

I will also say that "religion" as taught in the Bible is correct. But, this is no longer just a religion. It is a specific religion called Christianity. So, which brand of Christianity is correct? I have not yet found one that is absolutely in sync with the Bible. But, based on my studies, the baptists are closer than any others I've researched, but only closer. I did not say they are 100% correct.

Look for a religion that teaches you (from its holy book ) everything about life because TRUE RELIGION will definately be the one well documented in a scripture - God didnt give humans a brain to remember everything, so his exact words is on some religions holy book which includes :
geology, astronomy, biology, physics, marriage and divorce proceedures, treatment of orphans, what is due to the poor and needy, whats due to a criminal, trading and transactions, cleanliness ETC ETC - ( i believe its Islam )

Unfortunately as long as religions involve people, no one will be true and faultless. We just do the best we can in our flawed human way and have faith the God will make up for our short comings.

That really depends on who you ask. But if you actualy read the bible, you can find fault with quite a few religions. With mormons for example, the bible itself says that it is the only 100% true word of God, and anything else is blasphemy. Yet the mormons claim the book of mormon is the extended word of God.

And catholics have basically based an entire religion on praying to Mary, and other saints. Yet mary is only mentioned a handful of times. And the bible also says to pray to NOBODY else but God.

But like I said before, it really depends on who you ask.

As for you having to give up 10% of your income, and asked to hate ppl, thats wrong. We are supposed to tithe (render unto ceasear what is his, and render unto God what is his... or something like that) but you should NEVER be forced to. And the bible itself tells us to love one another, and love thine enemy. Nowhere does it say to only love the holy, just or righteous, it simply says EVERYBODY. so any religion that tells you to hate somebody is wrong. And sin is sin. Nowhere in the bible does it tell us there are degrees of sin. The only truly unforgivable sin is rejecting the holy spirit. And I guess if you think about it suicide would be unforgivable since if you kill yourself you don't have time to repent, and the bible does say its wrong.

And the bible does actualy encourage marriage.

Heb 13:4 Let marriage be had in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled: for fornicators and adulterers God will judge.

Isa 62:5 For as a young man marrieth a virgin, so shall thy sons marry thee; and as the bridegroom rejoiceth over the bride, so shall thy God rejoice over thee.

1Co 7:9 But if they have not continency, let them marry: for it is better to marry than to burn.

1Ti 5:14 I desire therefore that the younger widows marry, bear children, rule the household, give no occasion to the adversary for reviling:

And fyi 1 corintians 7:1 is talking about men not having sex with woman before they are married, not that they shouldn't marry at all. I don't know what translation you are reading, but I checked 5 different ones, and they all said different things, but not that a man shouldn't marry. And I couldn't find anything like that in the rest of 1 cor.

Don't look to the church. The church is the body of Christ...not Christ. We are not perfect people..most struggle daily with all of it. So, what's the deal then? Not religion..The Word of God. It is infallable. Most specifically the KJV as written in 1611. It is the collection of scripture that is the most accurate and included even the Apocrypha and as well was predicted to come about in prophecy just when it did.

Revelation 11
1And there was given me a reed like unto a rod: and the angel stood, saying, Rise, and measure the temple of God, and the altar, and them that worship therein.

2But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months.

(edict by the Roman Catholic Church to be the authority over scripture..taking it from the common man and translating it)

3And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth.

(Old and New Testament...the Gospel was still spread by copiets priests, monks and clergy who knew scripture was written for everyone. It was smuggled and hidden in sackcloth..easy to burn and as well would be buried with someone and dug up later.)

4These are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks standing before the God of the earth. (The Law and The Prophet - Moses and Elijah)

5And if any man will hurt them, fire proceedeth out of their mouth, and devoureth their enemies: and if any man will hurt them, he must in this manner be killed. (Fire is symbolic of guilt, anxiety, dread, inward accusation and the destruction of the anti-christian)

6These have power to shut heaven, that it rain not in the days of their prophecy: and have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to smite the earth with all plagues, as often as they will. (Again Moses and Elijah)

7And when they shall have finished their testimony, (established the earlist church) the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them. (The suppression of Scripture through the dark ages beginning with the edict, The Nicene Creed,at the Council of Nicaea)

8And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified. (The City of Confusion- Spiritual Babylon)

9And they of the people and kindreds and tongues and nations shall see their dead bodies three days and an half, and shall not suffer their dead bodies to be put in graves. (Again the digging up of scripture through smuggling out with deceases monestary, university and clerical persons)

10And they that dwell upon the earth shall rejoice over them, and make merry, and shall send gifts one to another; because these two prophets tormented them that dwelt on the earth. (Pagan practices being melded with Christian teachings)

11And after three days and an half the spirit of life from God entered into them, and they stood upon their feet; and great fear fell upon them which saw them. (1611 KJV of the Bible is compiled and translated, ending the 42 months or 1260 years of scripture suppressionThe spreading of the Gospel, the Reformation, The Printing Press)

There is alot more to this but I can't go into it..suffice to say...when you read scripture..you are reading the Word of God through inspired writers. You have to look at what they are saying..."Thou shalt not marry..." I don't see that. Paul was speaking specifically to those that would be teachers, preachers and diciples of the Word of God. Telling them...if can avoid marriage and "easily" lead a life as a single man you would be better able to spread the Gospel..As Paul was unmarried himself. He was not condemning marriage. By the way though..marriage is slowly becoming a thing of the past anyway. At least traditionally. Read it. Really read it. With prayer and an open heart. You will see what so many real Christian who live in the Word see. Love in Christ, ~J~ <><
