When getting a phisical exam will the docter take a urine sample?

if so will drugs automatically appear in your urine or do they have to use some specific strip a tool to see if its drugs?

fat-soluble drugs, eg marijuana are detectable two or three months after use. Water-soluble ones just a day or two

they might not test for drugs? A urine analysis gives the state of kidneys etc.

Yes. All physicals require urine and stool samples. If you're under medication, you better tell your doctor first or the person who will do the physical exam. If you're taking drugs, it will show up and they can actually tell if your taking heroine, marijuana or "rocks". Altho sometimes, heavy coffee drinkers and heavy tea drinkers also show signs of drug use so its always better to be honest about diet and food/liquid intake, medication intake with the person doing the test so they can consider it once the results come out.

The doctor usually takes a uring sample for a physical. The answer to the second question is "it depends".
If this is you going for an annual physical, the doctor may not ask for a drug or tox screen unless he thinks that it may be needed.
If this is you getting a physical for truck driving or flying, the doctor is mroe apt to test for drugs.

There are several testing procdure to detect drugs in the urine sample.
