i wonder how nice and good can he b when he is with his friends.

Sounds like he is fronting, and is really immature. Dump him. If he was a real man, then he would know that his priority is making his best behavior with you. He may be value his friends more than you, that's what his actions are clearly saying, I had a guy like that and I dumped him. Of course I first confronted him and gave him an oportunity to change then of course it didnt last then I moved on. Remember you are special and deserve to be treated just as well as you treat him, right? Best of luck!

It seems to me that he is all talk in front of friends and just wants all your attention at home. Or maybe he fights with you to make sure that he doesn't lose you. But if he starts hitting then he's doing it for his own pleasure. To make you sad and himself better. Thats what i think
