Yes, satan, also known as lucifer, was an angel, who were also created by god to serve him in heaven, who took offense that god gave man free will, but not the angels. Satan wanted men destroyed, because he was jealous of the time god spent with them, and started an uprising, which god put down, and threw satan and his followers out of heaven.

The angel that became Satan(meaning resister)and Devil(meaning slanderer),like all of God's intelligent creation was given free will. The right to make his own decisions.Unfortunately he coveted the worship that Jehovah received, and as a result, misused his free will and tricked Adam and Eve into disobeying Jehovah.Thereby bringing suffering and death to all mankind. But Jehovah in his loving wisdom rectified matters as John 3:16 tells us - "For God loved the world so much, that he sent his only begotten Son,in order that everyone exercising faith in him might not be destroyed but have everlasting life".

I always thought that God and Satan were twins. So when God created the earth and all its wonderful things, the nature, birds animals etc then Satan was also busy creating the devices that will keep Man from enjoying the nature and keeping a pious fraternity. It was Satan who created doubt, confusion anger etc.

its a very long story. i will try to keep it short and easy to understand.
God created everything. yes. Satan (Lucifer) was used to be the chief angel in the heavenly realm, bible recorded Lucifer is the most beautiful angel, angels in heaven were supposed to worship and praising God and submit to God. but Lucifer started to appreciate himself more. and slowly, he tends to look for his own glory. so he left the heavenly realm and dominated the control on earth. and started his own effort of raising up his own world of followers. God give freewill to men even to angels. that is the greatest gift God has given us. Satan is not his creation, God mean everything well, Satan is the result of Lucifer's rebelion to God.

Yes He did. Lucifer was the Angel of Light in heaven. He was one of the most important angels. He also "led" the music in heaven. He was the most beautiful angel in heaven. He was robed in jewels and all that fancy stuff. Well, he got a little too proud and wanted to be as God, but God threw him out of heaven and designed hell for Satan (what he was known as after his fall) and his angels (demons) which were like 1/3 of the angels in heaven that went with Satan. Hell was not designed for humans, but since Adam and Eve sinned in the garden, we are dammed to hell, and Jesus Christ is our only hope of salvation.
The angels are not God's children. He merely created them to praise Him and worship Him. When we are born, we are automatically sinners and children of Satan. But, when we get saved, we are adopted and become children of God, and when we die we will live with Him in heaven and praise and worship Him forever!

if everyone on this earth becomes Good then who will you call bad my friend, then there needs to be a balance in nature in everything. if there are no liars there will be no value of people who are truthful. similarly we are been given a choice , choice to decide the course of our lives. between the right and the wrong between the good and the evil, between God and Satan, that makes us become what you said as God's Children as God knows that only the child who truly loves will belong to him and not follow the wrong path.

satan, like someone else said, was known as lucifer and he was the most beautiful of all the angels, the name lucifer is translated 'shining one,' or in some translations 'morning star' then he rebelled against God because angels have the free will to decide to follow God or not just like we do.. now to address the question of love.. He allowed us to have the free will to choose to serve Him or to serve ourselves.. if he didnt give us free will then we would all be soulless robots.. but because of our free will we constantly reject Gods will for our lives.. He showed His love to us in that He sent Jesus Christ to die for us on the cross to pay for the penalty of our sins.. so when you say, 'wouldnt you do the same for your own children?' in that context we are the children and God gave us a perfect world and as His children we rejected Him, just like satan did.. satan is a fallen angel, and we are fallen humans

Definitely, GOD created Satan too, he becomes Satan because he didnt follow the rules of GOD, so those who divert from GOD's rule also are the followers of Satan.....

Satan is also known as Archangel Lucifer. He used to be Gods most beloved Angel so I don't think God saw it coming.
