Any object manipulated or directed in such a manner as to incur or attempt to incur injury , or lead to a perception of threat of same, on the part of another person.

Interestingly enough a registered boxer's fists are counted as an offensive weapon if used outside the ring.

You can carry a knife in the UK provided that you have a good reason and it does not have a locking blade or a blade longer than 3 inches.

If you are trogging around with any article that the police can reasonably prove to be used for harming another person then you have no defense in law.

Don't carry anything for self defense excepting an alarm. Sprays, knives and batons can all be used against you and are probably illegal.

You can carry any tool or sporting equipment to and from the location where they are to be used.

Your primary obligation in a confrontation is to retreat UNLESS you believe that a persons life is at risk if you do so. At that point you have can use any force reasonable to stop the attack. Stoving the attackers head in with a brick after he's down will land you a prison sentence, you have to stop the attack, that's all.

If you can't retreat then you can use reasonable force (as decided by the court not you) There is some leniency here in law as you are not expected to make a correct decision under such stress. Once you can run and stop the attack then you have to run.

If you are attacked you should report it to the police.

Don't carry a knife.

How about your mouth. You can kill someone with the right words and know they will. It's better to hurt someone mentally then physically. You won't see immediate results as you would with a knife. But these wounds last a lot longer and sometimes you can watch the hurt grow as if you were caring for a plant. Every now and then you might need to feed it to keep it alive. But it doesn't require much energy. That way you can devote your energy to other worth while ventures.Hell a quadriplegic can do it.

It is not the weapon that is offensive, it is the use of it,
A pencil could be classed as an offensive weapon if you used it to stab someone, particularly in the eye.

Offensive means becoming aggressive. Our anger mind is the prime facto of becoming offensive so I think ANGRY MIND is the prime offensive weapon.
