Back in 1978 Jim Jones was the leader of a group known as “The People’s Temple" that was founded in the USA but eventually moved to Northern Guyana. The group settled in a jungle and called their communal village "Jonestown". As a result of a investigation conducted by USA authorities, Jones lead their followers to a mass suicide. Official reports said that 913 of the 1100 people at “Jonestown” at the time were murdered or committed mass suicide, 276 of them were children. It's has been report that Jones shot himself.
