Our God is an AWESOME God!! He can do just what He pleases, and it pleased Him to allow one of His creations, Lucifer, the fallen angel (the devil, satan, beelzebub, the enemy, the evil one...all one in the same) to still have free will and some limited power...even gave him a home...hell. When people have a hard time understanding why OUR GOD would do this, I say to think of Steven Spielberg: of course he likes a happy ending, but he also likes a good plot and to let his characters work through life's troubles. I believe Our God is similar. I love Him. and I trust Him without question or turning.

The Allmighty! Because the devil can't even get our God's permission, he goes against everything he is told by God. So the word working as it is used in your question, I feel like refers to the devil taunting God's permission.

God is mericful forgiving and loving.Satan lead man astray into his realm. But by the devil God can find those that sincerely and truly love and trust and believe HIm and desire to abide by HIm in His kingdom away from the ills of the devil.

It's like without any viruses or spyware or hackers on the net the companies making the Anti-virus or Anti-Spyware or Firewall's would be an unknown and unimportant lot. So it's like "You pat my back and I pat your's"

this God you talk about is supposed to be everything, and so "he" is all "good" and also all "evil". The "Devil" is also a part of "God" because "God is everything".

You know....... the ONLY thing the devil (enemy) can do is Persuation.... he doesnt have more power than that....
remember.... God gives us free will.....we are free to go away from him... because he's always waiting, and always sure that we will come back to him..

He has a purpose but he will not always be "working".....God has a plan for him and for evil in general....
