i went out last nite and a cop pulled me over and searched my car and found that i had brass knuckles i didnt get a ticket but he said that the distric attorney was going to handle this i want to know what can happen to me can i be put in jail ? i live in California.

The problem with brass knucles is that no one really has a lawful reason to carry them. They are a weapon. The purpose of having them in your possession is not "for display", but for violence. If you try to argue they're for protection, then you'll be told to apply for a CCW and buy true protection in the form of a firearm. So, the knuckels are a weapon, you had them in your vehicle i.e. concealed, why would you have a concealed weapon without a CCW permit? That is a crime, you can be charged, but that is entirely up to the ADA and/or the judge.

You may be charged with a misdemeanor crime such as possesion of an illegal weapon or some such crap as that! It won't be a felony! Even carrying a concealed weapon is a class 3 misdemeanor! I would be expecting to be arrested any day!
