I have known 3 Cocker Spaniel owners that have had their dogs go mad or insane. Carefully check the parentage.

The best way to find a good dog, of any breed is to go through certified breeders. Meaning, ones that have pedigrees. You should check out the AKC site. They have lists of Cocker breeders.

Ack! No! Go to the AKC or the national breed club and look at their breeder listings. The National Breed Club will be a great reference, though you still need to research the breeders and ask *a lot* of questions.

Go to www.puppydogweb.com and look up the breed you want. Your chosen breed's page usually have a link of breeders selling the dog you want... you might find a seller near your house. Then again, you might also want to get a puppy from www.europuppy.com. I heard they are really good breeders. Good luck in finding your dream puppy!

Ask a good vet if he has clients that breed puppies, he should know about their health,and temperment.
