Is there a way to transfer data/music from a cassette to a disc by recording the cassette into a computer and then just downloading?

When I was learning computers the disc memory was 18" across and you had to wear a special grounding strap to handle it.

yes, you need to connect the tape player to your pc. plug a jack into your headphones or audio output on the tape player and another jack into the blue plug (line in) behind your computer.

you can use a free program like audacity to record audio from the Line In as it's source.

http://audacity.sourceforge.net/

from there you can burn them onto CD

Get a cable that goes from headphones of a tape deck or jam box and then plug it into the line in on the sound card of the computer. My husband's done it with records before (awesome effect, btw), and he said you could do it with cassettes the way I just mentioned above.

You just need to connect the cassette player with the computer, if possible. Newer players do have a proper output.

i love it. Makes me experience like i'm in a unmarried of those Comcast cable commercials (that a minimum of air in New England section) that make city parts all colourful and performance a humdrum yet catchy individual making a music a music with lyrics that are purely like the lyrics from the music in Juno.

This could require data lines, or wireless equipment.
