I pray daily. For my family. I am an ordinary person and I do not know what to believe, but I sure hope that prayers have some power.

Your going to get so many different answers here. I think it is more important to ask yourself this question.
But sense you asked. Yes I do, prayer is a like a reward for us. Not only is it a form of worship, but a way to seek forgiveness and/or thing we need and want in our lives. It is a way to talk to God a way to grow closer to him. My religion say the difference between a believer and a non believer is prayer.

I still pray and believe in the power of prayor. How could I not when I lived in New Orleans and evacuated the day before Hurricane Katrina. During the long road trip to Arkansas I prayed with all my might. Once me and My family arrived we were given shelter in a church where we lived for weeks after watching the devistation on cable TV that the church folk were wonderful enough to install for us. as we watched in awe we saw family members and friends being air lifted to saftey. I prayed that Those friends and neighbors we could not see and did not know of would be ok. we began getting phone calls on my dad's cell phone shortly thereafter. Although most of our family and friends were safe I still prayed. My mom and dad both suffer from inherited illness and our future was still so unsure. My faters job tracked him down and offered him a Job in Memphis. The CEO of the company gave us her house and moved into her mothers house who lived next door to her. She and her friends picked us all up from the chirch in Arkansas and drove us all (a family of 14 in all) to Memphis. I knew my mom and dad would be fine and that was a wonderful blessing but I continued to pray. God continued to answer my prayors. After a few weeks we (my brothers and sisters and myself) learned the city and all got really nice jobs and apartments. We are all doing as well as can be expected not still very emotionally scarred by haveing something so devistating happen to our city, our homes, and our communities; but I still pray. This summer My mom was awarded a big house where she has been happily spending time with her grandchildren that were scattered across the United States. I still Pray. I pray that my friends and family that are far away from me are shone Gods good grace and mercy. So far God is still answering my prayors. I know that wasnt a quick answer but it is a true answer.

I get answers to prayers all the time and definitely believe in the power of prayer, since it's the only way I know to communicate with my heavenly father.

I read a study once ... some people told some other people with cancer that the church would pray for them.... the church did. the people got worse and had more complications than the group of people that didn't get prayers. seriously.... I wish I could remember where I read it... but I'm pretty sure it was true. so save your prayers... I'm don't bad enough as it is.

I certainly pray, I have seen my prayers come true, even though my prayers were not answered when I did not want to lose one of my relatives, the Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away. I have always remained faithfull and I have felt the glory of the Lord shining down on me always. Peace be with you child of God!:)
