Why do you smokers keep using the public streets as your personal ashtray?

Don't your cars come with an ashtray????? I hate you jerks that throw cigarette butts outta the window. But you would never do that when there's a cop around... because you know it's littering, punishable by $1000 fine.

Next time I see one of you jerks do this, I will catch your act on video tape and call the cops on you.

Most smokers have little or no respect for the environment or themselves. They are "addicted" to one of the most filthiest habits and can't stop. If they have no respect for their lungs and the lungs of those around them, then how can you expect them to have respect for the environment. Do what I do, when I am behind someone and they throw their coffin nail out the window, pull up along side and toss some dirty kitty litter or doggy poo on their windshield. See how they like that!!!

Personally, I DON'T CARE if you smoke, just don't do it around me and STOP TOSSING YOUR BUTTS OUT THE WINDOW PLEASE.

That maybe a lil harsh, but it's totally the truth. I use to smoke till about 3 months ago it's a nasty habit, but I always used an ashtray never did I once throw it out a window. Not just because of the big fine I would get, Im just not much for littering at all. It pisses me off.

I am a smoker, but I hate seeing everyones cigarette butts everywhere. It is probably because there arent a lot of trash cans or ashtrays around. However I find it simple enough to put mine out and put it back into my pack. I do wish people could learn to do the same!

My boyfriend and I are both smokers, and we both use the ashtray in the trucks., Matter of fact, when I am walking, I bring a small tin, so that way after I put out my cigarettes, I could put them in the tin and put a lid on it and empty it out when I get to a trash can.
So please do not say that all smokers use the streets as a personal ashtray.

Oh goodness...this is a big pet peeve I have too. Like when I am driving down the highway, I ALWAYS seem to get behind some lung cancered freak who obviously doesn't care about their life enough to make the world a better place by not flicking their butts out the window. What assholes. And to all you people defending this sort of behavior, you better get that lung scan now. Because you know, lung cancer is one of the most fatal forms of cancer. And I sure as hell ain't giving you one of my lungs (smoke free by the way).

heh, no kidding.

i no longer smoke, but even when i did if i was out in public (with no ashtray or trash in sight) i would but it out on the ground, and then put it in my pocket once it had completely cooled.

i'm no litter bug.

in that case, go drink bleach. i mean, you're going to die anyway. (okay, bad analogy, but still-- drink bleach.)

nothing will ever get better, including the litter problem, unless you make an effort. saying that something is already bad so it's okay to contribute further to the problem is just stupid.

Because its convienient to throw it out the window...It takes an extra 10 seconds to put the cigarette out in the ash tray, and those ten seconds of distraction that i dont have on the road may cause an accident...hahah

I don't know why they light up in places where other people are walking. I always find myself walking down an alley or out of a building and these people don't have the common decency to climb into the sewer to smoke
