Compared to US and UK, Bulgaria is cheap - I mean, the average salary here is way low, and people have to live somehow :)
Although the best eating out places can be a bit costly... the last time I ate out, at a rather expensive place (well, it was on the cliffs over the sea in Sozopol, a beautiful place and rather good cooking), a good lunch for three people was about 10 pounds... total.
Of food you can get almost any variety, especially in a resort location such as Sunny Beach - native food which tends to stews and soups and plain tomato - and - cucumber salads, as well as, most likely, Italian (loads of pizza), Chinese, Arab... plus Greek and Turkish cuisine, or parts of them, which are considered as matter of couse. In few words, you can get amost anything.
Sunny Beach is beautiful, but as I love my country, I think all of its nature beautiful.
The weather is not quite unpredictable. It's been reasonably hot in Bulgaria recently, and, although it is a tad cooler by the sea, Sunny Beach is in the south and very likely to keep mostly warm. I need not warn about rain flooding, these last couple of years have hardly left many areas that usually get rain, unflooded, but after a real problem was encountered last year, the emergancy handling routines have been much improved.
I hope you decide on coming, and you all enjoy your stay here!
Just a note, Bulgaria is cheaper than Greece (plenty of reasons, and it is a fact).

actually qtrn2005, Bulgaria is a fantastic place to go to, so dont knock it before you even tried it! You obviously don't know anything about it. Its much closer to the UK than America, so of course you aren't going to here much about it,unless you have plenty of money to get yourself there.
So, as i was saying, Bulgaria is great. The black sea has fabulous beaches, the weather is usually around 28 c, but drops at the end of September, and nighttime is quite cool, so take little cardis/jackets.The two main resorts are Golden sands and sunny beach. It is a very cheap place to holiday, VERY. You can pick up a large bottle of vodka for about 4 pounds, and in pubs and clubs, all shots are double the size of ours, but still cheaper. This year our family are going to golden sands, but sunny beach is just as nice. We are going all inclusive, and so we are taking very little for our family of four, around 300 pounds for the two weeks, most of which will brought home again! You dont mention if you are self catering/half board, so i dont know how much money you would need. Make sure you go on a day trip to the aqua park in golden sands!

Why would you go to Bulgaria??? Go to mexico, or jamaica, or hawaii, but BULGARIA???? Maybe it's a USA thing, but I don't hear anyone talking about the fantastic beaches in Bulgaria! If you do decide to go to Bulgaria, I would guess about 10 dollars American will do 'ya.
