Well, the problem your running into isn't that you can't do it.. it's that you don't want to use the product (hairspray) that will get the effect you want... The BEST I have ever found for spiking hair.. is called got2b glued blasting freeze spray made by Schwarzkopf You can buy it at walmart in the hairspray section it comes in a bottle that looks like a fire extinguisher it is a yellow can with a silver top nozzle.. It is made specifically for spike, cement and finsihing the wild hairstyles! It brushes out and washes out easily. So.. there ya go.. a solution... but one you don't seem to like as you say you don't want to use hairspray but that's what works!

If you have to ask on yahoo answers how to hold a mohawk, you shouldn't have one, and if you do get one, you will probably get beat up by someone who recognizes that you are a poser. P.S. I do not have a mohawk.

Yea if ya evr heard of...got2b glued or roxy ipox rock hard gel! basically ne thing that says glue or rock hard gel should work, but I find those are the best!

Mix some Elmer's glue with a little water and use that. Sounds crazy, but that's what the guys at my college do.
