No, my cats love being up in high places. However there is NOTHING WRONG with a cat not wanting to be in high places or being afraid of them. You said that you found her as a kitten and that makes all the difference. My cats love string. Well, two of them do. When Thunder was found as a kitten she was tied upside down by her tail to a playground swingset. This poor kitty is TERRIFIED of string. No yarn balls for her thats for sure. A kittens young life is much like that of a human baby. Its where they are molded into who they will become. Please do not worry about her. Just give her some TLC and put a nice kitty bed on the ground for her. My cats sleep in boxes, go figure.

My cat is afraid of height too! I think it is because he had an inner ear infection when he was a kitten - and it must have messed up his equalibrium, because he has no balance at all.
If he gets on anything heigher than a bed or a sofa, he gets nervous. But he still wants to be on top of things! So he will beg for me to put him on top of the cabinets or something, but then he just flattens out and can't get down without help. It is sort of sad, but mostly just plain funny.
He can't jump very well either. Whenever he tries he usually fails pretty badly. Completely misjudges how much energy he needs and usually falls well short of his target.
Maybe your cat had (or has) an ear infection too. Have you had it checked out?
Good luck!

There are numerous reasons.
If a cat's claws are removed it can not balance as well, because cat's use their claws to grip and keep themselves steady.
If it is missing pert of it's tail, this also reduces balance.
Maybe it's hips/legs are weak or have a problem of some sort.
Maybe it's just lazy?
I'd say, ask a vet. They are more experienced than most random Internet users!

this may seem strange but it just depends on the cat, like person. it may have had a really bad experience with being up high since it was a stray, my cat doesn't like heights either! =)

Yes. A friend of mine has a cat that does the same thing. It may because she fell & hurt herself before you got her. Don't worry too much, just try to make sure that she doesn't get stuck up high.

No, his isn't, yet as a kitten they do have a tendency to be afriad of heights. go away your cat exterior an hour an afternoon, attempt to maintain a watch on him/her, preferbly in an enclosed section, like your back backyard, optimistically there'll be s tree or some thing he/she will climb on. solid success.

That's one funny cat! It defies his nature, he defies himself being a cat which is supposed to love climbing great heights and jumping from a roof. Perhaps you can train him to be a better cat ;)

outside od smaller kittens that fall alot i have seen a few and its mostly from a dramatic fall. they can be asleep on the entertainment center or dressor up high and stretch falling off and after a time they get nervous and afraid of heights. i've seen them up in tree's and on roofs and scared to get down.
