- Keep mind sharp with crossword puzzles and large print books
- Keep them involved in your life with updating conversations.
- Ask them questions about their life and family (look at old photos together)
- Get them to do some type of daily excerise (walking, lifting lightweight-dumbells, swimming, leg lifts in a chair w/out weights), squeezing a rubber ball)
- Teach them about Jesus and read the Holy Bible with them, pray with them (after all we are all getting closer to judgement day)

Give them love and affection. They should feel that someone is interested in them and wants to care for them. Since their decisions sometimes vague, give due hearing for their feelings and try to convince them that they were wrong. Allow and encourage grandchildren to interact with them. When they fall sick, make them feel that you are much interested in them. Have some conversations with them on matters interested to them. Have patience in their putting big volumes on radio/TV since they would have lost the hearing capacity.
