well, call around to differnt vet's offices and ask how much a regular office visit would cost, estimate how much for spaying or nutering and vaccinations. Go to Walmart and Petco and petsmart and price litterboxes and litter, food (make sure it's quality food I recomend Natural choice complete care indoor line) scratch posts, toys etc. Don't forget to get a carrying case for each cat.

I'm glad to see that you are thinking about this stuff ahead of time. also make sure you have some extra money incase your cat(s) get sick or end up having chronic conditions.

Well that defends on whether you’re getting a young kitten or an adult cat.

A kitten the first year will cost more cause you have to spay him and he needs two vaccinations In his first year.
An adult cat should already be spayed and has all his vaccinations for the year.

On your first buy you buy everything: food, litter box, litter sand, bowls, a carrier to take him to the vet (can double use as a bed too), a comb, games scratching boards and a tree like board so he can have something to climb on.
Then it’s just food, sand litter and games here and there each month it should cost about 50$. (Very much depends on the food and sand you buy, how ever usually expensive foods are batter then the cheaper one, pro plan is a great food and ever clean is a good litter sand).
So yearly it will be about 600$ with out the vaccinations and medical emergency.

That depends on what foods you feed them, whether you feed then enough or so much they get fat, what kinds of litter you use, and how often you change that. You'll need a scratching post, but cats will choose what things they want to play with - they'll rarely use the toys you give them. Mine like to push pens around and bring feathers in from outside. But never underestimate the cost of vets bills - you can't just assume yours won't be ill. Vaccinations are another cost, as is preventative flea treatment.

on average I spend $600 a year on my cat thats includes Iams cat food, Fresh Step litter, and vet checkups. With toys my cat plays with soda bottle caps, ice cubes, blankets, pen caps, and my used tennis balls all which cost me nothing since they are all recycled things. You can spend less or more depending how much you want to spoil your cat. I spoil mine as you can see by the cost. You can buy cheaper brands than I do and save about $100 a month. Mine is happy, playful and healthy so what I do works for us.

That is totally up to you! If you wish to do it in the traditional way and live in the country, the cat will cost you nothing. If you decide to pamper it and treat it as a member of your family, it could cost as much as $600 a year for an average of 12 years. Naturally that cost would increase with age as veterinarians are not cheap!

When I adopted a cat at a local rescue league, they tell you that it costs about $300 per year to keep a cat.

This is a small price to pay, for the love and affection you get from them.

Is this a trick question? lol...........Cats will cost as much as you let them. They just seem to have a "way" about them........ Have you read about millionaires leaving their entire fortune to their cats? Along with pay for their caregiver as long as the cats are alive. I was homeless years ago and lived in my car. Had a cat that stayed right with me through it all! We split a fish I caught every morning and he drank water out of the creek..... they are amazing! Got to love em :o)

a little more than you might put in the offering plate on Sunday. Keep your money for the important things, cats will only bring smell, fur, dirt and damage to your home.

Be practical and give your hard earned money to the poor. People are counting on you.
