Call your dentist. If you're having an allergic reaction to a medicine, he or she might be able to help you.

Benadryl may help, I have no idea. It can't really hurt to try it.

Yes, you can take an antihistamine, which is what Benadryl is, or you can use Benadryl cream, to help with the hives.

You need to call the surgeon or dentist who did the procedure and tell him or her that you seem to be allergic to the pain medication. Rashes are a well-documented, though less frequent, side effect of hydrocodone. It seems to be the most often prescribed pain killer out there, as everyone I know has taken it at one time or another. You may feel that you don't need pain medication, but wisdom teeth extraction can be pretty painful, so my guess is you will need something a little stronger than aspirin or Tylenol. Ask the doctor for something else so you can heal comfortably.

Good luck!
